Olympian1010 7,937 Posted January 31, 2021 #791 Share Posted January 31, 2021 Just now, Monzanator said: I know that. Tell that to IMSA though. Ligier & Oreca should be in LMP2 and LMP3 should be scraped alltogether IMO. Bad news for @heywoodu #29 Racing Nederland is out and Rinus VeeKay didn't even turn a single lap. They crashed on the oil laid by #20 and suffered terminal gearbox problem. The LMP3 class is fine for developmental driving, so perhaps it should stay in the developmental series. Renger van der Zande still in the hunt for the overall though. “Sport has the power to change the world. It has the power to inspire. Monzanator 4,457 Posted January 31, 2021 #792 Share Posted January 31, 2021 @Olympian1010 I believe heywood is more of a Rinus fan than van der Zande. Besides Chip Ganassi isn't that of a fan favorite to begin with Olympian1010
Monzanator 4,457 Posted January 31, 2021 #793 Share Posted January 31, 2021 Racing Team Nederland... in yellow & black Maybe sponsored by Vitesse Arnhem? Btw, this is the same Jumbo as Jumbo-Visma? Guess they have some money to spend?
Olympian1010 7,937 Posted January 31, 2021 #794 Share Posted January 31, 2021 Geez, what is with the BMW’s punting people left and right tonight? “Sport has the power to change the world. Olympian1010 7,937 Posted January 31, 2021 #795 Share Posted January 31, 2021 Commentators seem to be implying that Audi has a LMDH program potentially in the works... Peugeot is returning to Le Mans, perhaps Audi’s feeling nostalgic “Sport has the power to change the world. It has the power to inspire. Monzanator 4,457 Posted January 31, 2021 #796 Share Posted January 31, 2021 Audi ditched Formula E (funny how that is viewed second-rate now that it has lost the "new age" aura) and confirmed they will be back at LeMans in 2022. If they really wanted to build a DPi that would be a true swing for the fences!

Under the new regs, DPi cars (which I think will be known as LMDH or something in the near future) will be eligible to race in the hypercar class and vice versa. “Sport has the power to change the world. Monzanator 4,457 Posted January 31, 2021 #798 Share Posted January 31, 2021 Well, auto racing is too expensive for FIA and IMSA to keep the different regs stance for the sake of local purity. The pandemic hit will only speed up the ineviteable process. It hope it works better than DTM adopting the Super GT regs and still ending up on the floor (which basically mirrored their mid 90s demise). Olympian1010 7,937 Posted January 31, 2021 #799 Share Posted January 31, 2021 Just past the 8 hour mark, and we’ve still got 6 cars on the lead lap. Pretty close races in GTLM and GTD still. LMP2 class has thinned quite a bit. 3 of 10 cars left on the lead lap. LMP3 cars continue to get in the way of literally every other class on track. “Sport has the power to change the world. Olympian1010 7,937 Posted January 31, 2021 #800 Share Posted January 31, 2021 Something brought out the caution with around 13:45:00 left on the clock. Close racing off the restart. “Sport has the power to change the world. It has the power to inspire.
