Men's Handball EHF European Championship 2018

Recommended Posts

The decision was within the rules, but it says a lot that all those insults in this thread still werent deleted and it also says a lot about the self-control of certain people, but thats also nothing new.

A win for slovenia would have been ok, the german players were too arrogant and Lemke was clearly missing. Hopefully this will be a lesson for the german team, but if you cant beat a team like slovenia, you probably dont deserve to make the semifinal.

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

I really can't understand what happened and led referees to take this decision , but from start of match I see that those refs are really weak , many suspensions were not given , they must go home they are too weak for such tournament

The final decision was 100 % correct. Well done by the refs (I cannot say anything about the match in general, though).

"For the throw-off at the start of each half (incl. any period of overtime), all players must be in their own half of the court.

However, for the throw-off after a goal has been scored, the opponents of the thrower are allowed to be in both halves of the court.

In both cases, however, the opponents must be at least 3 metres away from the player taking the throw-off (15:4, 15:9, 8:7c)."

and:

"if during the last 30 seconds of a game the ball is out of play, and a player or team official prevents or delays the execution of a throw for the opponents, in order to prevent them from being able to take a shot on goal or to obtain a clear scoring chance, the guilty player / official is to be disqualified and a 7m throw is to be granted to the opponents. It applies to any type of interference (e.g., with only limited physical action, interfering with the execution of a throw such as intercepting a pass, interference with the reception of the ball, not releasing the ball)."

everything with rules, but judges must be fair to both teams.playback time 11 seconds back in look, how we started from centre.there were few germans around our man, but no voice from judge. also look the last german attack when they scored(there was foul in attack, but nothing??)

and then most important part of the rules.video analyse can choose official delegete of the game and not in this case german coach or players.

not to mention where german throved tovel in the floor and crucial 2m for kavtičnik (there wasnt foul)when we lead 4 goals, got 2 players our and germans equalized

handball rules should be changed, cause when judges are mentioned too many times, something is wrong with the sport

There is no ground for it...

Edit: there is no denying of the über bias Germany get from handball officials on and off the field (:bye: 2007 world Championship :bye:Australia :bye:Köln fucking every year, etc.), but this shit is getting ridiculous. Everything was made according to the rules as it been aknowleged by many.

It's not a matter of opinion, but one of rules. Look at @Agger post.

And yes, the rule is idiotic. and yes, the referees have ben atrocious during the game, and yes, it feels terribly unfair, and yes, if it was the other way around, the call might have been different...

...But, still, the call was justified and there is no ground for an appeal.

The rule isn't idiotic. It admittedly might have seemed so yesterday, because Germany would never have scored another goal. But in general, it makes a lot of sense. If there had been six seconds time instead of two, blocks like these could be crucial.

The Slovenian players made a very dumb mistake. If they hadn't blocked the German players like these, they would have won.

Slovenian coach admitted in German TV, that he didn't know the rule. You can see the interview, here: http://www.sportschau.de/handballem2018/video-deutschland-gegen-slowenien---die-analyse-100.html

It starts around 6:06 minutes in and he's speaking English. But I don't know if the video is Geoblocked.

So if the coach doesn't know the rule. And some players didn't seem to know it either (or blocked the German one inspite of knowing the rule), it's really their own fault. And I would have said the same, if the situation were reversed.

    • The first prediction is OK for us, but the second is unfortunately disastrous... With 28 medals, only 4 gold at home? And as the same number of gold medals as the UK and Slovenia, who have a combined 6-7 medals overall? It's a disaster. Anything less than 6 gold medals and a place in the top 10 of the medal standings will be a disaster for us... Personally, I'd rather even win 22-23 medals with 6-7 of which are gold, than 28 medals with 4 gold... Yes, every medal counts, but in sport, it's all about winning; the rest are just consolation prizes.

A whopping $200,000 of that total was for the behavior of the stadium ball boys, who attempted to seize a towel being used by Senegal goalkeeper Edouard Mendy on a wet night in Rabat — in an apparent bid to distract him. An additional fine of $100,000 was imposed for the "improper conduct" of players and technical staff who invaded the VAR review area and obstructed the work of the DR Congo referee Jean-Jacques Ndala. There was also a $15,000 fine after Moroccan supporters used lasers to try and distract Senegalese players during the game. Captain Achraf Hakimi was also banned for two games, with one suspended, and Morocco's Ismael Saibari was banned for three games, both for "unsporting behavior".
