Geez, finally common sense prevails instead of TV fuelled drama. The actually needed "consultations" to realize that?  Not gonna praise these idiots anyway. Field events remain a pariah for TV exposure.

You could say the same about any given field competition. Top 8 long jumpers can just decide to go back to the Olympic village.

WA has moved in to do something about the wonder shoes allegations. But new rules will only come into effect in November 2024 and who knows if that actually works?

Guess we will find out.  If in 2025 times set in 2020-2024 are suddenly unattainable, we will know why.
