Cross-Country Skiing FIS World Cup 2020 - 2021

I don’t know...the Finnish skier was in front, and he chose the outer lane. The Russian followed him into the lane (not on purpose most likely), and then was mad that the Finnish skier skied in the center of that lane. To me, that part of the move was clean. If the Russian is faster, then the onus is on him to go into a different lane and pass. Now, if the Finnish skier blocks him then, then that would be a dirty move.

Exactly. Basically Bolshunov tried to get into a space that did not exist. Yeah, then it goes wrong. Although it would still be great to finally get an angle from the front from the moment they're still in the corner. The replays started a little too late.

Sometimes I like to keep track of what happens to Instagram accounts of the relatively unknown athletes who suddenly get into spotlight for whatever reason (like Joni Maeki today).

Apparently getting bullied by Bolshunov is worth about 2k followers. :p

Forgiveness is the usual outcome of an apology.

It would suck if he was banned, maybe deserved, but with Norwegians back, entertainment value would drop hard without him.

Fines work, don't they? Lets do that.

This confuses me:

The COOP FIS Cross-Country World Cup finals will take place in Lillehammer (NOR) from 19th to 21st March 2021. The final World Cup competitios of the season 2020/21 were originally scheduled in Beijing (CHN) but had to be cancelled earlier in the season. With Lillehammer in replacement, a save solution was found in connection to the overall calendar as the FIS Cross-Country family will be located in Oslo (NOR) the weekend before, for the Holmenkollen Skifest.

In the meantime, the two Cross-Country World Cup events in Norway were given green light thanks to the approval of the health concept by the national health authorities.

The schedule for Oslo can be found here. The detailed programme for the World Cup finals in Lillehammer will be published as soon as possible on the World Cup calendar on fisski.com/cross-country.

But....Lillehammer was for early December and has been postponed, after which the women's ski jumping and the Nordic combined were recently finally given a date (in February), but the cross-country events there are still listed as postponed.

Oslo is still the only World Cup in Norway this season according to the FIS calendar, but this FIS article suggests otherwise.

    • It’s honestly baffling how bad she was in 2018. Just absolutely lost her head. Real shame too because she is so gifted. I do hope Li Jianrou sends her a Christmas card every year tho, she was absolutely gifted a gold medal by Christie in 2014.
    • Oh I’m not done yet, unfortunately. From the names that could be back but are still injured   Courtney Hoffos Mikael Kingsbury (should be back before the Olympics) Connor Howe (he returned, but nowhere close to his best so his injury is still giving him issues) Connor Bedard Meryeta O’Dine Megan Oldham
    • Italy also has its own list, although of course not every injury is as terribile  in terms of medal losses. In winter sports have unfortunately much more injuries than summer sports. In the summer only: cycling, volleyball and football.     - Brignone: will return in January, - Tabanelli: will return for the Olympics, - Bassino: season over, - Marta Rossetti: season over, - Lara Malsinier: season over.
    • TNT staff expect they will offer it at a price similar to what they offering the Winter Olympics for rather than the full TNT price.   But equally the main coverage is apparently going to be very different to what they do for the Olympics (Which is less pundits and studio chat than the BBC) with speculation it might be based on NBC’s Olympic coverage with tons of human interest etc.
    • India Sherret (ski cross)   Another name to the ever-growing list of injuries for the Canadian team… used to be excited for the Olympics, now not so much…
    • Voted  Thank you for extending the deadline and allowing me to vote once my exams are over. @OlympicIRL
