Men's Road Cycling UCI World Tour 2020 (La Vuelta Ciclista a España)

Update on the horses who got involved in the stage today.

As the pack attempted to reel in Soler, a group of five small Asturcon wild horses, local to the northern Spanish Basque region, burst out of roadside trees and into the second chasing group. Miraculously, no-one was knocked off their bike as riders took evasive action.

Bunch sprint in classic order developing over in Northern Spain....

All sorts of people you didn’t even know were in the race appear for the sprint & Sam Bennett gets it.  Two wins in a row for :IRL.

That last two kilometer was madness, especially the last few hundred meters. Did the organizers not see that idiotic stage in the Tour of Poland with a downhill sprint?

.

After a sprint stage yesterday, we get a breakaway today!  Tim Wellens wins it.

Oi!  Dan Martin caught in a crash in the last km.  Several other top guys held back.

Back to more head-banging climbing tomorrow.

Would have had the Tourmalet, but the Vuelta has the same problem the Giro had: France.

This has the potential to get interesting in the coming days though :p

Start the clock on the rider boycott. In 5 years they will have races only on dry, sunny days.

To be fair, they do need to look into making sure the stage doesn't finish in the dark if that actually were to be a potential issue, that's just a simple matter of basic safety. And no, "but 100 years ago they rode in the dark sometimes!" is no argument.

    • It might have been even more B-level than the men's and women' wch after the olympics but still inceedible to see Australia win gold without any dedicated curling facility in the whole country!
    • the most surprising splits, however, came in the mixed 4x400m, with Paula Sevilla at 48.5 and Lythe Pillay at 43.7  not to mention the many 49s among the women
