Just watched the first few minutes and already: damn, that road ain't good :yikes: It's as if someone played around with oil and soap the past few days or something

Just saw specialist Dowsett nearly crash after a few corners in the descent, I can't really imagine that going right for everyone...anyway, 3+ hours to watch I see :p

It’s Sicily: not quite Singapore when it comes to high & incorruptible standards of public works maintenance.  :mumble:

Wow, Mikkel Bjerg tying Almeida's time and the TV directors didn't show him live for a single second (as far as I saw), even though they did show half the time trial of Jos van Emden

The graphics towards the end that showed the first 10 or so in the standings...followed by a list of 10......wait for it....open water swimmers  (with wrong flags, and at least two names being in the list twice)

I get mistakes can happen and Tissot is known for having weird screw-ups and fails all the time, but how the fuck did names like Allan do Carmo (with a Tunisian flag), Evgenii Drattcev (with a Dutch flag), Ferry Weertman (with a Greek flag) and Simone Ruffini (with a Russiand and a German flag) appear there? :d

Giro d'Italia isn't the Tour, every year RSS and local government do some street work ;)

Covili OTL. How??

Even Ramon Carretero didn't manage to get an OTL in the first stage, and I can't really remember anyone worse than Ramon Carretero in recent years. Bardiani has fallen back from a pretty fun attacking team to just being two levels below the World Tour, but still, Covili's results suggest he's at least better than what he did today. Maybe a fall or some other kind of issue?

    • There will be specialized double sculls...just not for an NOC if it is entering singles specialists.   Either enter 2 singles specialists, or 1 XD specialist pair.   But they can in theory compete in both events, I guess, if they qualify...our top M, I think, does both.   But there are 17M, 17W, and 30 Pairs allotted in the quota, so I don't think the intent is that every singles entry will be in doubles.   (Perhaps this gets to fall in line with Weightlifting, where due to max entry quota, an NOC can't enter in every event, even if they have the best athletes...here, unless you have a pair who qualifies in both.)
