Biathlon 2016 - 2017 Discussion Thread

watching tomorrows start list I see that we do not consider the tomorrows mixed relay as important :wall: without Paulína Fialková and Kazár.

Gereková/Poliaková/Hasilla/Otčenáš lol... the goal is clear...try finish the race...

the single relay is even worse Ivona Fialková/Šíma oh dear

I'll be rooting for you, even though we (Czechs) are probably going to crush you... But that's okay :) I mean when Kuzmina gets back I'm really banking on your women's relay.

Maybe Totallympics should start an initiative when any Slovak athlete shoots a 0 they donate $10 to charity.

haha well it will not be a very rich charity then

thanks, well, no one actually know in which level Kuzmina will be, we all are looking forward for Pokljuka to see the answer. Remember she missed 2 whole seasons, also she had to suddenly stop the last preparations phase because of illness and she had to return home from the training camp of our NT in Tyumen. http://www.teraz.sk/sport/biatlon-svedsko-sp-nova-sezona-start/229826-clanok.html Her main and only goal is PyeongChangs sprint and 3rd consecutive medal (Golden hattrick) so she still has some 16 months to improve her level back to the top.

The new IBU datacenter sucks...

I find it interesting that I read a few people saying it sucks, while I (who always has big issues with every change, ever :d ) actually like it :p

Especially that like 95% of the screen is used for the actual live timing instead of menus, the part that you can customize exactly how you want everything to appear and so on..

    • The only ones complaining about the short track refs are Italians, imo. Not even on this forum, but in general, from what I've been seeing on live chats and other social media sites. That says a lot to be honest. I suspect it's partially due to them not performing to the high standard they're expected to perform at especially at the Olympics. The refs make a lot of mistakes for everyone, there's no bias against or towards anyone    Plus, Italy have won 6 medals already.... the most you've won at a Worlds since 2016.
    • For me they gave Canada the gold in the relay in exchange for a 1000-meter dsq gold for Dandjinou, that's how I see it. It was a battle between Kor and Can on 2 of this case. It's hard to say why that last dsq for Kor was in relay? Of course, Italy win bronze thanks for that, but that's not really important. It would have been better if the referees had just stayed out of the results and left it as it was decided for fight on the ice.

    • the quata for europe or australia is from the primer 12, where the top 20 teams will participate, sadly  is the 21th team so the only slight chance for us in my opinion is if: we get top 2 at the european championship (not including  hopefully if they get the quata), then somehow win the final qualification tournament against i assume  and one of    the chances for us are slim, i think about 4 other team sports  have a better chance in in my opinion(and the most team sports we ever had was one, and it was the last two time after a long time )

    • well, Cuba and Venezuela for sure...   Iran is a different question, but I hope in 2 years all this war shit is done and dusted and at least in the sports world everything is gonna be OK
    • In my opinion the Italian team has been playing above expectations since last year after several years of decline. Last year, we advanced to the first division at the European Championships and now they're playing very close matches against the strong India and Scotland. We a little miss a potential to do more – we are only 18th in the world rankings. Our men's team's performance in this sport is much weaker.
