That was a perfect day for Iran, 5 out of 5 ! two gold and three bronze medals ! :yes and we still have kumite team in the final. winning 6 medals is a very good result specially now Karate getting much more attention because of Tokyo 2020.

5 medals for Egypt with only one gold , not the result i was looking for after 3 golds last wch , but still not a bad result too , hopefully we can get those 5 medals in Tokyo 2020 :d , the best thing for Egyptian participation is that Giana Farouk continued her winning rhythm in world championships after winning youth , junior and U23 WCH , now she's 2-time senior world champion and she can looks for more in the next tournaments , Sara Sayed reaching women's kata final was a big surprise for me , she wasn't supposed to play this wch , as she replaced the injured Aya Ismael just few days before wch , Omar Abdelrahman was another surprise in men's -75kg

2 things ignored me in this WCH , 1st playing each event in only 1 hour , not allowing players to take rest , although we can have only 3 events per day like what we see in taekwondo for example , 2nd playing half of national anthems for gold medalists , tv broadcasting wasn't good enough for me , in many situations i couldn't decide who deserve the point because of tv broadcasting

Very happy with the team title.:champion:  that was a very close battle, it looked like Japan will win the title after Ganjzadeh lost to his archrival Kagawa (the same guy he lost to at the Asian Games and got disqualified later) but Askari and Poursheib saved the day and won the title for Iran.

It's too early to think about Tokyo 2020 but this tournament shows we can count on Karate in next Olympics.

Just read in our medias that the 3 selectioned womens Kumite categories for Tokyo 2020 will be the -55kg, -61kg and +61kg. and only 10 athletes will participate in each category, continental champions, world champion and others according to world ranking.

but can´t find anywhere anything to prove the source :mirror:, but well, since it´s the head coach of our NT who said that, I think it should be credible :d

    • Today is a day without Italians in the leads positions. I`m worried that they are not trying to revive this our sprint. There is only one Bosa and he is old. Pergher is young but she is also only one. It is a pity. After the Olympics they will probably 100% give up on the entire sprint. Our medal bag in Cortina will depend 90% on Ghiotto, just like it did on Fabris in Turin 2006. If Ghiotto will be in goodshape, he can even win 2 individual golds + a team medal. If not, it will be a flop. Apart from him, only Lollobrigida can compete in the mass start and possibly Giovannini in the men's mass start.

    • Yes, he is ones of the first supporters of Milei, owner of one of the most important stock market of Argentina (Bull market), he was peronist and for "unknown reasons" start to be libertarian.   Even being libertarian in my case, i have to admit that him is one of the dumbest of "Milei supporters" and a clown when  he is in TV, he made me feel  embarrassed in many occasions.   Camila Giorgi being with him is.......inconceivable.
