The basic verb "to have" doesn't have a direct translation in Hungarian. Not surprised about some caboverdian piece of art. Portuguese Sodade is in the portuguese-based creole language that is spoken in Cape Verde (which I always liked it, as I grew up in a city with many descendants from old imigrants from our old colonies), and comes of the word "Saudade"

I know it doesn’t have a direct translation, but would you mind explaining to me what it means the best you can. Y’all know how much I love language Basically is a mix of feelings, but mostly that nostalgic feeling caused by the absence of someone, or something, or some place, or even by the willing of wanting to relive something from the past. I think it was put into a word as a way of describing the feeling of people whenever their loved ones would leave to explore the sea or to fish, but also the feeling the navy guys had of their own home whenever they would be far away in the sea or colonies. Kind of, but you don’t generally look at something affectionately if it’s bittersweet. “Sport has the power to change the world. It has the power to inspire. OlympicIRL 5,532 Posted July 27, 2020 Author #929 Share Posted July 27, 2020 It sounds like nostalgia is the word it is most closely related to... it is a happy and sad feeling about the past or something missing. mrv86
