Global Games - To Be Decided

Pole sports! They even had a tiny attempt once to get in the Olympics, who knows, the Global Games may be a first step towards the World Games.

I'd also except CrossFit, it's been a thing for years now, so why not. Not my thing, but it certainly has a longstanding competitive tradition: bodybuilding.

It might be a serious logistical challenge, so not sure elephant polo would be a good addition. Maybe if it's in an elephant-rich environment, don't know.

Oh, oh, oh! This may be somewhat controversial in the current geopolitical world, but fuck it: we NEED to have the awesome tank biathlon

This may certainly be that sport where you do really want to avoid certain match-ups, but that's a secondary concern. On the other hand, it's tank biathlon, go play some children's game like kickboxing or "jumping from a 6 meter wall" if you don't want to get hurt.

God, there are just so many options when actually searching for them. We are really going to need that 4th major event of which the name isn't yet sure.

I'm assuming you have checked out the list of International Sport Federations

As mentioned this might get a bit too big. We may have to restrict it to sports/events who regularly have at least 8-12 nations participating at the World Championships/equivalent.

In that case basque pelota has 32 country federations, and 8 countries have won medals in the World Championships.

it is also an official sport in the Panamerican Games,

That might be a good idea for the Global Games, with that criterium alone I think we will already be able to fill it up very nicely.

There's still going to be a lot of other sports left then, so for those we will likely have to go for a fourth event indeed, not sure about the name yet.

Don't worry about the practical issues of organizing it, one of the steps in our plan is to find a billionaire who wants to fix this for us, so it's basically just a matter of following our plan. No doubt Qatar will want to host it, or who knows, Nepal or Brunei or something would be cool. That'll likely sort itself out once we find our source of finances.

    • There will be specialized double sculls...just not for an NOC if it is entering singles specialists.   Either enter 2 singles specialists, or 1 XD specialist pair.   But they can in theory compete in both events, I guess, if they qualify...our top M, I think, does both.   But there are 17M, 17W, and 30 Pairs allotted in the quota, so I don't think the intent is that every singles entry will be in doubles.   (Perhaps this gets to fall in line with Weightlifting, where due to max entry quota, an NOC can't enter in every event, even if they have the best athletes...here, unless you have a pair who qualifies in both.)

    • I read the Olympic qualification documents for weightlifting. A country can have the opportunity to send a maximum of 4 athletes in one gender, but the conditions are very strict.
    • world champion Jessica Schilder opened her season up with 19.78 in France.
    • wait! what???   so, there won't be specialized double sculls, but those boats would have to feature 2 single specialists if a Nation wants to enter 2 proper singles M+W??? tell me I misread the expalaination...
