Also surprised no one mentioned darts, speedway or snooker. Eurosport really failed to promote sports lately :p

Darts has been mentioned and is, in fact, already in the very first list you might see in the OP :p

Snooker was in the World Games. Speedway could be in, certainly!

Does the great Viktor Krum still play? That'd be an awesome addition at the Global Games, might be on some posters.

This will bring us to roughly 250-300 medal events. Certainly lots to work out yet, I know for example timber sports doesn't really have 'axe' and 'saw' as separate events, but we should have the hot saw and a few more which I have in mind but don't know the names of (like chopping wood, climbing a tower while chopping steps out of it, etc).

We're getting somewhere!

If we don't found a few billionaires to fund it (unlickely I know) how great would it be if IOC decided to fund the World Games and expand to a lot of the sports we 've been talking ?!

Quite a lot of these have already been added, but not all, so thanks :d

I think that list would be my list of sports for the games.

There's also the squash-like thing where the ball reaches extreme speeds, I believe an Indonesian sounding name...something with a J I think.

Jai alai! Definitely not Indonesian, but Basque and a close relative to Basque pelota, but the fastest ball sport in the world apparently - in terms of ball speed.

That'd be awesome :d

Honestly, considering the obscurity of plenty of things in the World Games, I'm somewhat surprised that one would be able to set up a program for a third global event that would still be so diverse that a majority of people interested in sports would be likely to find at least one or two things to their liking :p

Not a relative, but a part of it ;)

    • The tournament is over for Mathilde Fantin – unfortunately, a big loss for the Italy. Tomorrow we play a semifinal against France – if we win, we'll have a grand final against Hungary on Friday. Everything will be clear then, bacouse the final match against China should be a formality. In any case, we've already achieved our best result ever in our history, or at worst scenario – 3rd place in Division 1A.

    • Super runner, good guy, sadly never entirely recovered from ripping his leg to shreds in the act of going sub 10, but as you say a key relay man for the better part of a decade, and a European and World Champion, and a reminder that talent doesn't always come in obvious looking boxes -a breakthrough sprint athlete for many of middle eastern and north african heritage.

    • Duno. To me the most interesting question is the short term is whether Poilievre survives this or not. It will be tough for him to justify his leadership.
    • Wonder if they'll get a couple more floor crossers to strengthen their majority.
