Liu & Sasaki miles off the pace. I bet Semirunniy could skate faster than this crap!

For sure. Too bad he wasn't fast enough when he needed to be, but I'm looking forward to his 10k.

In Hamar. He finished 4th while Lorello 9th. Had Lorello finished 8th (ahead for example Semirunniy), the Pole would qualify ;) On the other hand, Semirunniy lost 0.07s to the third place there that would also have qualified him for the OWG in 5000 metres.

Lorello is leading at the break with a 6:09.22, though that's pretty much where he should be given the rest of this early field.

Seriously impressed Liu Hanbin even showed up. After that injury, I figured he was done for the season, so just seeing him finish is nice. Now we’ll see if the guys from France and Czechia can actually handle the pressure. The real show starts in pair 9 though. Let's see if Eitrem can actually back up that insane world record from two weeks ago.
