But on day 1 probably M or W 10k and maybe M shot put...

I feel like it would be smart to have the men's shot put in prime time given it's currently one of the US' strongest event (not just in athletics but in general).

Can sb explain schedule of table tennis to me?

3 medal days too soon, later 2 medal days and later 1 medal day

I guess - first M, W and Mixed doubles finals

Then M and W singles

And then Mixed Team event

Men's / women's / mixed doubles, then men's / women's singles, then the mixed team event.

Tennis schedule is a bit strange. Starting in the middle of Week 1 and ending on day 14.

This means the players will have to skip full two weeks from ATP/WTA circuit, so unfortunately maybe more of them will like to skip olympics instead.

This strange new mixed artistic gymnastics event on day 11 i guess.

it's because they want a few days break between Wimbledon and the start of the Olympic tournament

however, it's the stint between Wimbledon and the US campaign, when only minor clay championships (Gstaad, Baastad, Kitz 250) are played by low ranking/surface specialists

actually, the Olympic tournament could be a good warm-up for the US hardcourt season

Good point, i did not notice it before, that athletics is not in evening. Interesting. What about weather in LA? Will not be too hot for athletes?

hot, yes...but LA is by the Ocean, it's not that humid like the Far East

and generally, late July is better than August/early September

for instance, this is 2025 weather forecast in LA during the Olympic period
