Since ChatGPT is so good at schedulling, I asked him - just for fun - who are the main favourites for the possible Day 1 events in LA?

Welk, turns out ChatGPT is a bit conservative and boring - they mainly go for the current world/olympic champions.

But they predicted two big surprises imo as well.

:FRA Triathlon - W Individual - Cassandre Beaugrand

:POL Canoe Slalom - W K1 - Klaudia Zwolińska :yikes::cheer:

:ITA Judo - W 48kg - Assunta Scutto

:JPN Judo - M 60kg - Ryuju Nagayama

:UKR Fencing - W Epee Ind - Vlada Kharkova

:GEO Fencing - M Sabre Ind - Sandro Bazadze

:KEN Athletics - W 10.000m - Ruth Chebet

:USA Athletics - M Shot Put - Ryan Crouser

:USA Athletics - Mixed 4x400m Relay - United States

:FRA Rugby Sevens - M Tournament - France

:USA Shooting - Mixed 10m Air Rifle Team - United States :yikes:

3 gold for USA, no gold for China on day 1

4 of them are not gonna happen, the 2 in red are highly unlikely  :pope: :p

Why? Sandro at least deserves to be in red, although men's sabre is quite hard to predict (like all of the fencing, except women's foil)

well, actually they all should be in red

I mean, until the competition is over, they might be unlikely to win, but we can't say for sure that they will not

however, it's only a bold prediction 3 years before the start of the events...nothing to be taken too seriously

It would be bold prediction even before 1 month, because we all remember what happened to Candassamy, team France in women's sabre and others, I love fencing, because it's almost everyone's game and not monopolised at all by 1 person

Chat GPT is somehow 3 out of 3 in their predictions - he predicted those 3 for LA and they all won gold in Tokyo WCH on day 1.

So you know what's gonna happen next heh.

I asked them who are the favs for gold in LA 28 in day 2 wch events? We'll see if they'll be so smart again lol.

M 100m 1. :USA Lyles  - Kishane Thompson close 2nd

M 10000m  - they predict Joshua Cheptegei for gold in LA, but he's not there in Tokyo so we move :ETH Berihu Aregawi from 2nd to 1st

W 100m 1. :LCA Julien Alfred (Melissa Jefferson-Wooden 3rd, it won't be like that in Tokyo I guess(

W Long Jump 1. :USA Tara Davis-Woddhall 2. Mihambo

W Discus Throw 1. :USA Valarie Allman 2. Tausaga-Collins 3. Feng Bin

You are so boring, CharGPT. They basically go for the Paris champions ...

Idiotic format alert: in hockey there are (for each gender) 18 pool play matches and 4 play-in matches before the quarters. So I guess there will be 3 pools of 4 teams and everyone will advance to the ko round.

I asked the GROK AI to predict day one results

Women's Shot Put
Based on recent performances, world rankings, and Olympic medal history, Yemisi Ogunleye of Germany is the clear favorite. As the reigning Olympic gold medalist from Paris 2024 with a winning throw of 20.00m, she ranks third globally and has continued to dominate in 2025 competitions. Close challengers include defending world record holder and American record holder Chase Jackson (USA, 20.76m PB), who opened 2025 strongly at 20.31m, and Maddison-Lee Wesche (New Zealand), the 2024 silver medalist with a PB of 19.86m. At 26 years old in 2028, Ogunleye's consistency in major championships positions her to defend her title successfully.

Men's 10,000m
Grant Fisher of the United States emerges as the top pick, building on his 2024 Olympic bronze (26:43.46) and rapid progression in distance events. Now 27 in 2028, Fisher's tactical racing and recent personal bests (including sub-27:00 times) make him a strong contender against an aging field. Joshua Cheptegei (Uganda), the 2024 Olympic champion and world record holder (26:11.00), will be 32 and has indicated 2028 as his final track Olympics, potentially facing fatigue from his packed schedule. Emerging threats include Jimmy Gressier (France), the 2025 world champion (28:55.77), and young talents like Ethiopia's Yomif Kejelcha, but Fisher's home-soil advantage in Los Angeles tips the scales.

Women's 100m
Julien Alfred of Saint Lucia is poised to claim gold, leveraging her explosive 2024 Olympic victory (10.72s) and status as a rising star at just 22 years old in 2028. Her ability to challenge Flo-Jo’s 10.49 world record, as noted in early projections, combined with sub-10.80 consistency, gives her an edge. Sha'Carri Richardson (USA, 10.65 PB) remains a formidable rival after her 2024 silver and world-leading 10.71s at Trials, entering her prime at 28. Jamaica's Shericka Jackson (10.65 PB) could rebound from injuries, but Alfred's youth and momentum make her the predicted winner in the high-profile Day 1 final.
