It said in Portuguese: Guilherme Caribé conseguiu o tempo de 47s10 na prova de 100m livre no Troféu Maria Lenk, nesta quarta-feira. Ele se tornou o 10º nadador mais rápido da história da prova. O tempo de Caribé foi também o melhor de um atleta em 2025 e, com isso, ele assume a liderança do ranking mundial.

:ITA Thomas Ceccon completed his Australian Champs campaign winning the men's 100m free in 48.41, he wasn't brilliant at all, starting to feel the fatigue of the meet (the time in fact isn't even his SB, as he already did a 48.17 earlier in the year)

GB only taking 28 when they could have taken 30.

The objectives for this event are to maximise medal outcomes and provide international

championship race experience for athletes on a trajectory for a podium performance at the Los

Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

:facepalm:Literally ignoring their own selection policy.

Unlike Athletics Swimming seems to keep a tight lid on dissent among those who miss out.

Who were the 2 which missed out and which events would they have competed in?

It’s hard to say who they could have taken they are few possible wildcards. Kara Hanlon a breastroker maybe?

It's kind of tough, nobody missed out, they took everyone who qualified (by their standards), they just didn't take all the discretionary spots they had available.

That being said, Blocksidge had the World aquatics A time so she could have swim given there are no other distance swimmers (of either gender), in the squad. I would have taken Hanlon so that every stroke 100 has two swimmers per gender. She has the A time in the 200 so she could swim that too.

Hanlon is the most unlucky, in my opinion. Aside from relay cover, she's the 50m champ and they made a point of including consideration for those events being in LA for the other discretionary picks. Essentially she has the same case for selection as Max Morgan (albeit without the trajectory right now).

Blocksidge's form was way off this week (compared to her previous bests). Obviously being still young you could put that down to relative inexperience. Still, she has World and European Juniors that she could still be selected for this summer. There's an argument that performing well at those might be as beneficial as going to Singapore.

That said, I'm happy that they did take a bunch of discretionary picks. That's not always been the case.
