It's on regular Eurosport here and I'm catching a replay now after I woke up. The whole thing still feels weird and not having full stands is not helping the excitement :d And the graphics they are using are atrocious.

Yesterday I watched the races on TV before falling asleep (and I must say that the sleeping effect of the event worked), in addition to a depressing atmosphere, there was a 10 to 15 minute break between races...

Also there's some british guy who's trying to do grand slam FIELD in 2026,as much as i like the idea if Johnson can't pull his thing off,i really struggle to see how that guy could.

This could have been a rival to the diamond league if done right, but this isn't it. It's boring, too many breaks not enough action. It would have been much more interesting as a league, say you get top 32 athletes in every track discipline together. You have 3 rounds or 2 in longer disciplines. So QF, SF and Finals. Essentially how sprints work in cross country skiing. For the disciplines that need longer recovery limit the amount of participants. Maybe you switch it up for some races and you do 1v1 like the Warholm vs Duplantis thing. That would provide constant action without breaks. But the biggest issue for me is no field events. I hope Coe sees this failure and realises how important they are. I also hope he stops trying to reinvent them with new rules every year.

    • Do you know who the US is going to start?   If it's not Skenes, then the chances of winning go up somewhat
    • That would require the Dominican Republic losing to South Korea and I'll eat a sock if that happens
    • A lot of clear shooting in men's sprint in Otepaa. Laegreid vs Jacquelin ski race for the win.

    • Yep, if they can take advantage of those cracks maybe, but it's too big of a maybe in my opinion. Our pitching has relied on Caissie, Toro, and Lopez the entire tournament, and I don't see that being enough to match the US's firepower.   Canadians are used to disappointment, there's almost always things that go wrong, and there actually being a chance to qualify for the...
    • That was realistic though, this isn't.   The women were heavy favourites, we did better than expected. The men were favourites with their roster of course, but they dominated that final just unfortunate to be going up against prime Hellebuyck who was a brick wall and of course there were a few questionable calls that were crucial in the end.
    • It's unlikely, but possible. USA pitching is not that great imo. Canada will probably have to score 6+ runs to have a chance, but it's definitely possible.
    • If they can beat us in hockey, we can win in baseball
