Qualification for the 2026 World Baseball Classic has been announced. There'll be 2 qualification Pools and 4 teams in each with the top 2 teams in each pool advancing to the 2026 WBC. :AUS:CZE:CAN:CUB:DOM:GBR:ISR:ITA:JPN:MEX:NED:KOR:PAN:PUR:USA:VEN

 

As a fan of international baseball, words cannot describe how disappointed I am. We are coming off arguably the greatest international baseball tournament in history in 2023 and we are cutting the number of teams in the qualification round from 12 to 8 teams :facepalm:. How do you expect to grow baseball like that? Teams like :ARG Argentina and :PAK Pakistan have been on the rise but now they won't have the chance to qualify.

Qualification gets underway in just under six hours!

 

First up, we have Taiwan, Nicaragua, Spain and South Africa battling it out for two qualification places in Taipei. Qualification is round robin format.

I would expect a competitive game that could go both ways. 

 

Nicaragua will be riding the momentum from their 2-0 start to qualification and their pitching has been great so far.

 

Taiwan should be the favorite but for some reason, they decided to not select a bunch of players that were on the team that won the Premier 12 tournament and opted for younger players. However, the home crowd will be a huge advantage for them still.

      the basic is the same but with different tricks, different strategy etc. it's a mixture of frestyle and Greco because you can't dive for a single leg attack.    I'm surprised to see ~20 wrestlers in each weight. hopefully that doesn't tempt UWW or IOC to try this in major events. as a wrestling fan I find this very unwatchable !

      Lasting 2 Weeks and including 24 sports    I bet Beach Sepaktakraw(including their favourite Chinlone, Hoop), Water Skiing, Arnis, Floorball, Wushu, Weightlifting, Taekwondo, Underwater Hockey, Boxing and a few martial arts (Kickboxing/Muay Thai etc)   Obstacle Racing also should make the cut.
