Men's Baseball WBSC World Baseball Classic 2026 Road to LA 2028

Baseball has good enough depth to be included at the Olympics, it's on a similar level as field hockey/rugby sevens/water polo. What holds it back is venue costs and MLB refusing to let the players compete.

With that said, baseball definitely has an African depth problem. WBSC has been working hard on developing sport on the continent which is a lot more than what water polo has done.

The north -central american teams dominate in baseball.

Baseball also has good nations that don't usually contend for medals in other sports like :DOM :VEN :PUR :CUB :MEX

Agree. What rugby did for Oceania, baseball does for Central America and the Caribbean. Having said that, I totally understand the cost of hosting this sport in non-baseball countries, such as France. However, I think LA should have at least 8 teams, if not 12. It's a sport where players can play virtually every day with little rest, and they could have possibly used Angel Stadium to have more games.

Is that a problem? I'd argue handball and water polo is more European dominated than Baseball is Pan American dominated

all these small versions of existing sports (baseball5, hockey5, waterpolo4 and so on) can only propedeutical activities to get a few more youngsters closer to the real sport, but they have nothing to do with the high level sports and the Olympics

please, let's be serious...
