after the 2nd semifinal heat of the men's 1500m I was so disgusted that I stopped wasting my time :wall::hairpull:

however, awful day for :ITA (and certainly not only because of a shameful refs' decision) :nopompom:

Frist world cup podium (and rare British podium) for Niall Treacy! :yes

About the Italians, they didn't reserve a single sentence this weekend.

Why didn't Sighel start today? Fontana is slightly injured.

The competition is now more fierce than in the case of Fontana 4-8 years ago and secondly, Sighel doesn`t have to be a star of her caliber. He is strong, but there are a dozen or so like him. Short track is so unpredictable and lottery-like: falls, dsq etc., that counting on only 1 competitor at the Olympics can end very bad. And individually we can only count on Sighel + possibly the weaker Fontana in favorable circumstances. Canada or China have 3 candidates for the podium in the men's and then dsq of one doesn`t mean the end of chances for medals, like in our case.

2010 Olympic 1500m champion :KOR Lee Jung-su was competing in the 1500m semifinal earlier in front of his home crowd but crashed and didn't advance.

    • Yeah. It was pretty bad that they cancel the contract with the original creative director after 7 months of work. I feel like politics, in this particular context of the changing of prime minister and the cabinet, may had caused changes in organizational decisions regarding the Sea Games including the direction of the opening ceremony.
    • That's what I figured.  Wouldn't be a proper lead up to an Olympics without some media-fueled fearmongering.
    • Today : Jordan 3-0 Egypt  This team will surprise us
    • option no.2 for sure, as it's been all this shitstorm organized by the nhl owners through their embedded reporters   ps not that the north american audience looks really aware of the hockey rules and habits outside the nhl (and around their game, too, since they look not to know that just a couple of weeks ago they played 2 nhl matches on an ice sheet of the exact same size of Milan's olympic arena)
    • Are we supposed to take Daly's word for it or is this just public posturing to try and shame the Milan organizers (which they certainly deserve for all the delays) in order to threaten NHL participation?
    • Well that was a disappointing opening ceremony. Not to mention the boss is late too...   Anyway this is another victim of bureaucracy, the initial creative director quit in October and we get this kind of show.   Original plan: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/17EVayTpig/
    • Japan missed their last shot with hammer in the 10th last night against the Philippines for them to stay alive.  USA's remaining 2 games are against Philippines and Netherlands, so they have a tough road ahead, although they've already beaten Japan, so that helps for tiebreaker purposes.
