Starting this thread for all discussion regarding this sport, as it makes its Olympic debut in LA 2028!

Men’s team (WR #9) defeats WR #5 Italy 34-33 to start off their World Championships campaign!

Women’s team (WR #9) also pick up a win in their opener, defeating Italy (WR #12) 34-25!

Group Play - 55-0 win over Denmark

Group Play - 28-38 loss to Mexico

 

Men

Group Play - 26-28 loss to Finland (bit of a yikes, but maybe it was to avoid US?)

Round of 16 - 45-38 win over Israel

What's the situation with NFL players taking part in LA2028?

As far as I know, it's still up in the air. I'm sure the USA would love to have NFL stars in LA, though.

There's a lot less hurdles as like the NBA, the NFL season won't start until after the Olympics so you won't have the issue that baseball and ice hockey have. It's really up to the players, though I imagine team management may try to discourage them like they do in basketball. Also certain positions and skills don't really translate to flag football, kind of like rugby union players playing sevens.

 

Unfortunately for us, the CFL season will be ongoing so Canada likely won't see much support from them unless they take a week off.
