I liked breaking but while the commentators were having a blast they didn't do a good job at commentating.

Yeah, they didn't explain the sport at all. TBH, I thought the Japanese guy won the semi against Phil but I'm sure Phil was way more technical given the scores. But they didn't talk about it at all.

So happy for Phil and Canada.   It was fun to watch but aa I stated earlier I am not so sure I find this in the olympic spirit but  that is just me.  It seems almost artificial  putting the two people up.  It is almost like two skaters doing the routine and then see who scores higher.  In boxing or wresttling they actually physically are against each other.

So that ends the olympic hunt for Canada realistically????  I like they beat Tokyo.  And we need to remember they tried Sarah, Damian, Penny, Maggie, the women's soccer team.  Win or lose they represented Canada and they earned their olympic  berth.  Now I know we don't want to get intto let's give everyone a medal but wouldn't it be nice if say Paris created a piece of art medal ie epoxy resin and gave one to each athlete with some   kind of iinscription  - even if not on the podiuum they made it to the olympics - earned it!

Speaking of commentators depending on what network the commentators were in many cases bizarre.  Major networks cheaped out  or let p eople where whatever.   Some online   rep orting using interesting language.   Interesting waradrobe choice there was a guy in Canada with a borderline mullet who I still don't know who he is   wearing Miami Vice inspired wardrobe but often with shoes that didn't complement the outffit.  He looked like he dressed himself from the RW and Co sale rack.  Some of the American commentators golf casual just didn't look professional.

Phil likely won due to having more variety.

It wasn't even close.  I guess we all have different views.

    • I guess that including or excluding a sport is just a part of some bigger agenda. Political, economical and so on. Sport itself is of lesser importance. IOC wont mind a (un)popularity of a sport if they have a bigger cause to fullfil.  These are facts but on mainstream media its rarely seen.

    • My fear is that every sports/disciplines not on the program will see it as a way in, and we end up with the World Games + Ski&Ice
    • Summer Olympics, hell yeah I’m all for it!    Winter Olympics, absolutely not.    Cross-country running events are held in the winter, but that doesn’t make it a winter sport, sorry. There is one caveat though if it were to, let’s say get added to to the Olympic program hypothetically, because it would weaken the strength of distance fields drastically due to scheduling.    Edit: None of this is directed at you, just the idiots (like Coe) that think this (putting a summer sport in the winter Olympics, not cross country running at the Olympics) is a good idea…
    • Normally I’d agree, but we need to flush out flag football first
