Since her injuries KJT has only been average at the hurdles. She only ran 13.50 in Budapest last summer on her way to the World crown.

The time was apparently close to her season’s best. But the race looked labored.

OTOH has been a big improver in the jav, so I guess heptathletes change with age.

 

Incidentally both the M&F Hurdles are effectively a Prelim Round, big names join later.  Same system in the 100m flat.

I really don't like this new qualification based on time. You can win your heat and still not qualify. What if the wind changes and allows another heat better conditions? At the very least the winner and the 2nd place should automatically get a Q.

Get the Ski Jumping statisticians on it to work out a Factored Time!
