:JPN Abe v. :TJK Emomali

He lost, but will not be allowed to fight in the repechages due to his Allah akbar after beating the Israeli guy.

If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! Full story and how to help can be found here!

For an atheist country by law France surely pays a lot of attention to religion

And they probably have the biggest Muslim diaspora among European countries anyway?

Probably. Kind of a dumb thing to do by Emomali, much as it should be his right to do, he knew this would bring his medal chances in danger. Also dumb to disqualify him for that, but here we are.

Coming back after 2 years for this olympics I am happy to see the good old faces are alive and well. :D :D :D :D

The only "atheist country by law" in history was Albania under Enver Hoxha (thankfully, no more). Not sure about N. Korea though.

Just for the historical record.
