It is interesting we for example barely saw this backlash when a literal convicted terrorist was competing at the Paralympics

Wait what? :yikes:

Despite the "inspirational hype", the Paralympics are 1% the event that the Olympics are so it's normal that no one cares.
Here's a list of Olympians who were sent to jail (almost all for doing something after competing), Van de Velde is a unique case of being selected to represent his country at the biggest sporting event after committing such a crime. And yes, there is a scale of seriousness of crimes- theft and raping a 12 yo are not the same level...
The Dutch system is for a complete rehabilitation of the guy after 1 year of jail? Fine, just don't expect people in most other countries to not be disgusted by it.
(actually it would be, let's say culturally interesting to see him winning a medal and being received with honor by the King or president, something unthinkable almost everywhere else)

Rain & lightning delay in the late night match.

Closing it down & presumably the :USA v :CHN match gets finished later - was 1-1 & something.

Hmm, French announcer just sai the match is annullé….

Bryl and Łosiak beats French pair, just one of three positive things forvus today, with hundred terrible outcomes, I'm hoping that it was our the worst day in Paris and from tomorrow everything will return to positive, or at least without unexpected lossed and outcomes.
