Athletics at the Summer Olympic Games Paris 2024

Recommended Posts

Just to put women's 400m in a context:

The bronze medalist's time (48.98) would mean gold in World Championships on every occasion in the 21st century except for 2003, 2019 and 2023 and an Olympic Champion title on every occasion in the 21st century except for Tokyo (where it would have meant silver).

So, Mrs Kaczmarek, well done :)

It's wet for everyone. And it still doesn't explain her first two throws. Whatever, I'm not trying to take her down. I'm just saying, we can't get 10 minutes of celebration in Canada without disappointment.

All the throwers always complain about the wet circle. You have to adjust either way. Mitton had it for a medal if it was dry but I can understand why it's not so clear cut to everyone.

:GER Ogunleye 20.00 in the last round to steal gold :p

    • I think they incorrectly translated Ukrainian word "nahorody" - it is not a full synonym of "medal". Its cocrrect translation is "award". Meanwhile russian tennis playes switched for Potapova ->  Rakhimova ->
    • Ukrainian diver Lyskun switches allegiance to Russia, loses all medals | Olympics News | Al Jazeera   'loses all medals'   I would assume Al Jazeera could have been a bit clearer and mention this would presumably only be national medals. I mean, it's not like the Ukrainian federation, or any single federation for that matter, has the power to strip her of her world and European championships medals I hope (not for her sake, but because that would be a super weird precedent)
    • That's what I'd plan as well (except for MelFest), but I also know I am hypocritical enough to still want to watch the show and have a fun evening
    • Confirmation about the broadcasting rights.   If I'm reading it right, for most of Europe it will now be exclusive to Discovery/Eurosport or whatever brand they use.     For outside Europe, it's on YouTube. For Planet VPN....well, let us know if you find out.   fil-taker-list-25-26-winterberg-1.pdf   Also, should have mentioned above that the Nations Cup races today are just over one leg, whereas there are two runs in each of the World Cup races.
    • Got our first competition of the season coming up in Solitude, Utah  this weekend.  Live on Discovery Plus etc, plus also YouTube and the Olympic Channel.  If you are new to the sport, the sprint races on Saturday will be the format you'll find easy to understand.     ISMF   ISMF Skimo - YouTube
