Looking at Summer's splits tonight vs 2023, she was a bit faster in the butterfly (0.29), a bit slower in the back (0.2), way faster in the breast (1.79), and slower in the free (0.39). So, essentially, she broke the record with a much improved breaststroke. She's already a world class free, back and butterflyer, so seeing her breast times drop so dramatically just opens the door to imagination of what the future holds for her.

Will they add edouard fullum huot for the 100 free since he placed fifth . So he can swim the prelims in Paris?

Not seeing Summer or Maggie on the start list for the 100 free. Good news for the likes of Oleksiak, Smith, Savard, Fournier.

No Jankovics in the 200 back. Going all in on the 200 IM I guess.

Also no Branton in the 200 breast.

Maybe but only the top 4 are probably guaranteed.

Can MacNeil still be on the relay?

They might, but they could also use Hussey or Kharun (assuming he qualifies in the butterfly). It's up to our swimming director.

    • That was known from the start for  and will be planned for.   Sadly just the reality of sports in North America. Canada and the US are both huge, a flight from Vancouver to Halifax or from Seattle to Miami is north of five hours. Every sports league in North America has to deal with this kind of travel logistics on the regular, so none of this will seem particularly unusual to a North American player.
    • That’s not a long distance, it’s barely a 2h flight and there is no difference in timezone. Easily doable for fans as well.
