No chance for any italian in any sports to have universality quotas

So at 99% only Massidda and Pizzolato remain. I have a little disappointment. I was counting on 4 places: 3 men + 1 girl. Well, they didn't deserve it. Today, it was enough for Zanni to pass 336 kg and he would be ahead of the Spaniard.

In weightlifting there is always chance for reallocation. Anybody ranks 11 to 13 or even 14 and 15 still has a realistic chance

Beside the obvious reason (doping) injuries also happen alot in this sport

But then probably a person from the same country is going? For example, a Venezuelan is injured, so someone else from this country jumps in?

All the other italians are around 12-14 position, lets see what Is going to happen with doping ban ( Turkey, Ukraine.....) and China and Usa choices ( Usa are pretty sure with 49, 71 and +81)

I wonder what happened to Zanni today? He looked like a person who didn't even want to fight... Injury or some mental problems? For example, a competitor from Turkmenistan clearly broke his personal record and the fight was 100%. For our men has absolutely no emotions.

I Watch all the competitons and its the First time iseeZanni in such condition, he usually smiles and enjoy himself during the competitons  different from the the girls that  are scaried bythemselves,  probably there was something wrong in his condition, in snatch he usually Is at High level

Indonesia is slowly becoming a new powerhouse in this sport. Wouldn't be surprised to see them challenging China more regularly and in more weights.

Hopefully that elusive gold will come in Paris, so the sport will be well-funded than before and we can actually become a powerhouse.

Top athlete like Rahmat Abdullah still train in a dilapidated gym without electricity and using rusty weights owned by his father (who is also his coach). Most of the weightlifting Olympians of this country hails from the same province and also the same club, where the club founder fed and trained those poor kids into Olympians for free.

If the athletes can get results in such shit conditions, imagine if Indonesian weightlifting have a better funding.

    • I have reported this again and they said it should be fixed now, please let me know if you are still facing issues.
    • more countries added to the list of US ban    you can't travel to USA if you are from : burkina faso , niger , Laos , South sudan , mali , sierra leon ...
    • Yes, but what I mean for Serbia is that everything changed there (unfortunately for us ). 2022 was an unbelievable mess, that's not the case anymore now with just one athlete who has really gone for it and made it, so I'm 99% sure they'll accept it this time.   Who knows though. Plus there's always 1-2 bigger countries here or there who reject something, but it's not gonna be 16 places I'm afraid
    • Doping by Event Type When we look at which events have the most doping cases, a few categories stand out from recent sanction records: Long Distance (3,000m and above): 32% of cases Sprints (400m or less): 24% of cases Jumps: 12% of cases Javelin: 8% of cases Middle Distance (800m–1,500m): 8% of cases Hammer: 8% of cases Steeplechase (3,000m SC): 4% of cases
    • From 2020 to 2025    These three countries alone make up almost two-thirds (61.9%) of all current doping violations in athletics worldwide. It’s worth noting that 199 of World Athletics’ 214 member federations have no athletes on the current ban list. This means the problem is really concentrated in a small number of places. Here’s a look at the top countries: Rank Country Total Violations Percentage Region 1 Kenya 119 24.74% Africa 2 India 108 22.45% Asia 3 Russia 73 15.18% Europe 4 China 26 5.40% Asia 5 Turkey 20 4.16% Europe 6 Italy 18 3.74% Europe 7 South Africa 18 3.74% Africa 8 Ukraine 17 3.53% Europe 9 United States 16 3.33% North America 10 Morocco 15 3.12% Africa
    • Here's my calculations of the quotas. I believe you are correct about Italy having 3 quotas in men's singles.   Men's Singles   3 Quotas: 2 Quotas: 1 Quota:   data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAPABAP///wAAACH5BAEKAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAICRAEAOw==   Women's Singles   3 Quotas: 2 Quotas: 1 Quota:     Men's Doubles   2 Quotas: 1 Quota:     Women's Doubles   1 Quota:
