Entry List for this event is available. Some points from it...

There isn't so many changes in terms of countries.

Sky Brown will compete for :GBR, it's gonna be a huge opportunity to see her level against the tops.

Toledo :BRA will take part, even after his annoucement about the season off at WSL

:COL is renewing its team, there is even a 14-years-old boy.

If I am not wrong, :GRE and :NOR have the oldest athletes at this event. An 42-years-old lady for each

:INA gave up of its women's team, sending only a 14-years-old girl.

:ITA is not counting with Jesse Mendes, a Brazilian athlete who got an italian citizenship to compete for them

:JPN recruited Connor O'Leary to its team. He competes in CT under :USA flag, but always with a Japanese flag on his shoulders. It's interesting, I didn't know about his move. Seems he saw his chance to take part at Olympics, using the third Japanese quota, wich is already granted.

:PER hasn't confirmed its third female athlete yet.

:TPE has the youngest athlete, an 12-years-old girl. And the only one

:CAN team:

Men’s Shortboard

Cody Young
Wheeler Hasburgh

Levi Young

Women’s Shortboard

Mathea Olin

Sanoa Olin

Erin Brooks

Sanoa already booked her ticket to Paris during the Pan Am Games. Erin Brooks is a safe bet to join her, while Cody Young/Mathea Olin also have chances.

According to Wikipedia Olin got the reallocated Pan Am qualifier. Also I don't think Huscenot is eligible to qualify through world games due to France already having host and 2023 EU world games quota.

I prefer don't haha. Because I cant control myself when I am doing these lists.

But, I'd say there are a lot more athletes who I would add to it haha

As for the Teams Quotas. I think :FRA:USA:BRA:JPN:AUS:POR:PER are the favorites to get any of these quotas.

The thing with this event, and the whole sport of surfing for that matter, is that it's so unpredictable and wide open that half the entries in each category have a realistic shot at getting a quota.

    • Also it being illegal in France means the IOC will have to test everyone pre arriving at 2030 and can’t wait till they arrive at the Games to do so. I’m sure at 2028 for some sports testing will happen on site if it’s not a rule of its governing body for non Olympic events. So far only a few sports like Athletics and Boxing have that rule - I suspect others will adopt it but others might take time.
    • https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/olympics/articles/cpwj78lxypro ‘In France - one of a number of countries where genetic testing is illegal without a medical prescription due to privacy laws - the government has condemned the decision as "a step backwards". "It defines the female sex without taking into account the biological specificities of intersex individuals, whose sexual characteristics present natural variations, leading to a reductive and potentially stigmatising approach," claimed French Sports Minister Marina Ferrari.”   ‘A group of legal experts in human rights and sports have since expressed, external"urgent concern" about what they called "the regressive move toward genetic testing as a precondition of participation in women's sport" which they say "violate domestic and international laws that protect human rights and regulate the use of genetic testing and genetic information".  The group has called on athletes "to challenge the national or regional implementation of mandatory genetic sex testing, demanded by the IOC or international federations, before domestic courts, by invoking national or regional laws protecting human rights, prohibiting anti-discrimination, and regulating the use of genetic testing and genetic data".’   Domestic laws are more challenging for the IOC to deal with than CAS. Things could get complicated for a bit.
    • Except NOC’s and governing bodies have to still follow local laws. Particularly for Under 18’s there could certainly be domestic legal issues regarding associations paying for travel to other counties to circumvent a domestic ban. Child protection services don’t always act reasonable to attempts to break a domestic law.
