The Executive Board of the International Luge Federation, with the support of the Canadian Luge Association, has decided to cancel the 2021 World Championships scheduled for the Whistler Sliding Centre February 5-7. The FIL Executive Board will decide on an alternative venue in the coming weeks.

Not surprising, well now I hope that the European part of the world cup at least will be able to go ahead.

Worst comes to the worst we get an all-German year.

That might be the most prudent solution. Season could be 8 world cups, 2 at each German track, and then the world championships in Innsbruck, or maybe even St. Mortiz (I knew the FIL doesn’t race there, which is why it would be cool). You could even do the 8 World cups in Germany, and then fly over to Pyeongchang for the World Championships, and then hit China for the test event (assuming the track is ready by February/March).

What did I tell you?  :yes  Surprised we’re going all the way to Latvia.

That we'd get an all-German year in the worst case scenario. Now 4 out of 9 EBERSPÄCHER World Cups are not in Germany, so you're not even close :p

Although I'd rather have that last one either in Germany (or Austria or Latvia) or not at all. This dumb shit of having the whole season, then the world championships....and only three weeks later there's a more than likely entirely dead EBERSPÄCHER World Cup Final on some track in China.
