The Czech completelly felt apart in the last period, but god, how strong this team "Katyusha" is. It is going to be a surprise if Russia will not win the gold in Riga this year

The “World’s Longest Hockey Game” ends after 252 hours of continuous play. Fun article: https://nhl.nbcsports.com/2021/02/15/worlds-longest-hockey-game-raises-over-1-8m-for-cancer-research/

2 new :CAN  received the IIHF approval and are eligible from today to represent :BLR. Both will for sure play at the WCh in Latvia

Shane Prince and Francis Paré are now fully eligible to play for :BLR at the world championships. Obviously it is still not over, the goalie Danny Taylor will fullfil the basic requirement to represent another country (to play there at least 480 days) this March. The federation already announced they will ask IIHF to accept him too.

Reminds me of that one KHL playoffs game a few years ago between CSKA Moscow & Jokerit Helsinki. I think Jokerit won that one in 5OT. I watched/followed the entire match lmao

Unfortunately, 19-year-old player Timur Fayzutdinov from Dynamo St. Petersburg in the Junior Hockey League (MHL) died three days after hitting the puck in his head.

Thats happened...

HC Košice missed to qualify for the Play-Offs for the first time since 1980/81 :wall:

Total disaster. embarassing humiliation. Catastrophe...

worst ever result in history of Slovak independent extra liga. after losing 3-1 in the qualification round series to Nové Zámky (3-1 was also todays result of the 4th match), the club finished 9th and will not play in the Play-Offs. Last time this happened back in the Czechoslovak league 1980/81

total shame.

    • There will be specialized double sculls...just not for an NOC if it is entering singles specialists.   Either enter 2 singles specialists, or 1 XD specialist pair.   But they can in theory compete in both events, I guess, if they qualify...our top M, I think, does both.   But there are 17M, 17W, and 30 Pairs allotted in the quota, so I don't think the intent is that every singles entry will be in doubles.   (Perhaps this gets to fall in line with Weightlifting, where due to max entry quota, an NOC can't enter in every event, even if they have the best athletes...here, unless you have a pair who qualifies in both.)
