Besides, that's like Lance Armstrong saying he used doping when absolutely everyone in the world was already convinced about Armstrong using doping

But for Russia, even that admission is a big one.

Here is another one, I like the quote from Khovantsev: : "Between 2002 and 2014, you could count clean [Russian] biathletes on the fingers of one hand."

Ouch, that is pretty all encompassing.  Now is this surprising, no.

Nove Mesto in 2025 would be stupid if they already get it in 2024 for which they're the only bid? Minsk is a little soulless, Lenzerheide is absolutely fantastic, so Lenzerheide please

Far and away my favourite biathlon place in the world.

I don’t know, Hotham is pretty state of the art :p

As far as Australian biathlon venues go, yeah :p But I haven't been there, so I can only really judge Obertilliach, Lenzerheide, Martell and Arber and although apart from Martell they're all excellent, Lenzerheide absolutely wins it :d

From the ones I’ve seen, I’ve only ever been to Soldier Hollow, I really like Almaty, Les Tuffes, and Antholz-Anterselva (at least based off venues I can remember vividly, and love of their trails). I like venues that are really unique, and standout. I like trails with natural scenery, difficult climbs/descents, and unique layouts/features.

There's one problem about Lenzerheide, alpine skiing is still more popular than biathlon in Switzerland ;)

I wouldn’t exactly consider that a problem with the venue. It’s not like Biathlon is popular in the U.S., and Soldier Hollow is still a nice venue. Baku has a beautiful Aquatics Centre that often well filled for events, and Azerbaijan has zero Aquatics tradition.

    • I have reported this again and they said it should be fixed now, please let me know if you are still facing issues.
    • more countries added to the list of US ban    you can't travel to USA if you are from : burkina faso , niger , Laos , South sudan , mali , sierra leon ...
    • Yes, but what I mean for Serbia is that everything changed there (unfortunately for us ). 2022 was an unbelievable mess, that's not the case anymore now with just one athlete who has really gone for it and made it, so I'm 99% sure they'll accept it this time.   Who knows though. Plus there's always 1-2 bigger countries here or there who reject something, but it's not gonna be 16 places I'm afraid
    • Doping by Event Type When we look at which events have the most doping cases, a few categories stand out from recent sanction records: Long Distance (3,000m and above): 32% of cases Sprints (400m or less): 24% of cases Jumps: 12% of cases Javelin: 8% of cases Middle Distance (800m–1,500m): 8% of cases Hammer: 8% of cases Steeplechase (3,000m SC): 4% of cases
    • From 2020 to 2025    These three countries alone make up almost two-thirds (61.9%) of all current doping violations in athletics worldwide. It’s worth noting that 199 of World Athletics’ 214 member federations have no athletes on the current ban list. This means the problem is really concentrated in a small number of places. Here’s a look at the top countries: Rank Country Total Violations Percentage Region 1 Kenya 119 24.74% Africa 2 India 108 22.45% Asia 3 Russia 73 15.18% Europe 4 China 26 5.40% Asia 5 Turkey 20 4.16% Europe 6 Italy 18 3.74% Europe 7 South Africa 18 3.74% Africa 8 Ukraine 17 3.53% Europe 9 United States 16 3.33% North America 10 Morocco 15 3.12% Africa
