Can Serbia still qualify to Olympics over Cuba?

Yes, of course, the difference is small.

Also, they play next week.

after 15 defeats in a row (7 last year, 8 this year) Iran finally managed to win a match in VNL, surprisingly against the USA ! (also broke the 5th set curse)

while it doesn't change anything competition-wise, that was a must needed win for their confidence, that would be the end of our volleyball program if we finished this with 12 defeats. now there is some hope that our team isn't that shit.

and to be honest I think if they could pick up a win in the first week, they could be still fighting for the quota.

The :CUB v :SRB match started a little while ago.

These two nations are essentially fighting for the last quota spot, winner goes into a nice position.

Cuba's final matches will be against :SLO:BUL:POL while Serbia gets :TUR:POL:SLO. Overall pretty similar schedules. The loser will definitely need to defeat one of Poland/Slovenia to have a chance, but even then it might not be enough.

Serbia now has an 11 point lead over Cuba. I thought they had it after going up 2-0.

They pretty much need to beat either Poland or Slovenia to qualify now (along with winning against Bulgaria).

    • Ukrainian diver Lyskun switches allegiance to Russia, loses all medals | Olympics News | Al Jazeera   'loses all medals'   I would assume Al Jazeera could have been a bit clearer and mention this would presumably only be national medals. I mean, it's not like the Ukrainian federation, or any single federation for that matter, has the power to strip her of her world and European championships medals I hope (not for her sake, but because that would be a super weird precedent)
