The hammer probably heavily touched the cage and barely left it ... the other possibility might be that she slipped and "lost" the hammer, but that seems pretty unlikely. T&Fwatch 6 Posted August 13, 2016 #216 Share Posted August 13, 2016 Schwanitz is a huge disappointment, but not a lost gold. Really good first day of Schäfer in Hepthatlon. While fighting at CAS also, Dutee Chand (and lot of us) knew that she was never going to compete for medals at elite level like Semenya. Her fight was for a chance to compete. She reached her peak in trying to qualify for Olympics. Here, quite possibly occasion got to her and she couldn't come close to her best. Hopefully, she will be allowed to compete in future and she will come back stronger after this. I am probably a bad fan for saying it, but Klosterhalfen reaching the final would make me happier than any medal Schwanitz ever couldve won and a gold for Krause or Roleder would be more exciting for me than all medals the german throwers could ever win.
