I did my calculations before the final had come to an end, but it looks like position of Poland is safe enough. It may happen that your quota can be confirmed today.

Confirmed. We are qualified.

Huge upset in Lima, as :MEX beat World No. 1 :KOR in eightfinals :yikes:

It means that Mexico is fighting for Olympic quota. You are now at the 18th place but have to reach the 16th place and grab continental spot.

Sure, this wins lets them keep their chances alive, but only if USA manages to remain in the top 4.

@avlar which countries have mathematically qualified in men’s/women’s team sabre?

A did not calculate men`s tpurnament (because of our very low chabces).

For women sabre it is too early. The tournament in Peru is right now in the action (semifinal stage). And after that we still have 2 more stages on the schedule (other weapons have mostly just one stage to go).

The situaation is absolutely unclear after the defeats of the USA, Korea and Ukraine and the successes of Mexico, Bulgaria, Spain and Italy

For Canada, are they mathematically qualified in men’s sabre?

Do you know how many WC starts will not be counted in the Olympic ranking? Is it 1 or 2?

only 1 world cup score can be scratched (world and continental champs scores can't be discarded)

As far as I know oly the worst result is to be scratched

According to my calculations the battle for the European quota is not finished:

:UKR  - 250 pts. Worst result to be potentially scratched - 22 pts (12th place)

:EST - 218 pts. Worst result to be potentially scratched - 24 pts (10th place)

:SUI - 209 pts. Worst result to be potentially scratched - 23 pts (11th place)

Ukraone can be reach by one of these tems only if that team wins gold at the last world cup. Thus maimum points for:

:EST  - 258 pts. :UKR  needs 5th place to get 260 pts

:SUI  - 250 pts. :UKR  needs 11th place to get 251 pts.

I do not know the tie-break rules. But Ukraine has Gold and Bronze from the world cups so it could be possible, that Switzerland (no podiums yet) is not in the competition anymore.

it's over, because :UKR will score at least 22 pts (even if they don't show up), meanwhile :EST can't score more than 40 pts (64 for a win - the 24 scratched as the worst result), which means that :UKR can't finish below 272 points and :EST can't go higher than 258 (same for :SUI as they can't go higher than 250)
