Video of this is pretty funny.

A lifeguard competition turned into a real-life rescue after a small plane crashed into the Pacific Ocean near a popular beach in southern California.

Video shows the single-engine Piper Club plane slowly descending from the air, almost gliding into the water, as it crashed near the Huntington Beach shoreline.

Russian chess robots just as reliable as Russian everything else.

A chess-playing robot broke a child's finger during a tournament in Russia last week, with the incident being captured in CCTV footage.

The robot grabbed the seven-year-old boy's finger because it was confused by his overly-quick movements, Russian media outlets reported, quoting the President of the Moscow Chess Federation - who seemingly blamed the child.

A historic day is coming up tomorrow in Croatia. After decades of speculation, planning, delays, breaking ground, then stopping the project entirely (due to the 2008-09 recession!!!), and then finally restarting it in 2018 with EU funds... The Pelješac Bridge will finnally be opened, and therefore, all Croatian land area will be connected at last.

Just to emphasize how big of a deal this is, a special Opening ceremony will be held tomorrow evening, which will be broadcast on the national television.

I have known of this project basically all my life, so yeah, feels unreal that finally it is here. :d

So no need to speculate where next year’s Tour of Croatia is going.  :cycling:

    • Because of the low number of votes some categories may be cancelled (under the rule that at least two people should vote for a nominee). I may give a few more days for voting but I guess there's just no interest this year
    • In Italy in recent years there is simply been a problem with training new talents and looking at Colturi, the problem probably isn`t a lack of talented youngsters but poor training. Colturi and Collomb were at similar level a few years ago but where are they now? And this is the same year of born - 2006. Since Goggia and Brignone young time we haven`t trained a single champion. It`s the same with men. Vinatzer is wasting away and regressing in development, the same with della Vite in the giant slalom. The problem is it the outdated system which proved effective at the beginning of the 21st century but not now This also applies to other winter disciplines with a few exceptions.
