Slalom Canoeing at the Summer Olympic Games 2016

just watching the medal ceremny. Haneda look so happy the guy will be very thankful to his second nation

France and Slovakia won this event last 6 olympics and if we count Pollert of Czechoslovakia in Barcelona 1992 so at all olympics since the return of canoeing slalom at olympics..but Pollert is czech

So you are more happy that he got bronze rather than Czechia who finished in 4th place?

yeah I´m sad for the czech guy Gebas, you know, especially because this guy isn´t a professional athlete, he works in a tourism agency if I´m not mistaken..not sure though but someting like that. He was joking that his biggest problem was to take some holidays from his boss to compete in Rio   but thats just a joke, the agency is actually him and he is his own boss so it´s already a huge success that he won the czech internal qualifiers and managed to reach the olympic final.

 

but back to topic, well, Haneda is our he is extremely popular here, He already speak perfectly slovak, his dream was when he watched the olympics to start do this sport and as he say there were only one chance - must go to Slovakia, so one beautiful day he came here and started to train with our team, day after day, week after week, month after month he became more and more popular. He stay in Liptovský Mikuláš 10 months per year, train with our NT and so..

Awesome to have some amateur athletes doing well. Joris Vanspringel reached final in eventing today and he is a full time station master at Belgian railways.
