I am very happie that the caught a scandinavian for doping, everything they to Russia, they can eat now. There small goody two shoes.

If you're talking about Fuglsang...

Caught? They've investigated him (and may very well still be investigating) but haven't had the proof to start an actual case. Not saying that he couldn't have been doped, but so far he's innocent.

It's not like we don't have any doping in Scandinavia, but we don't have  more or less state sponsored doping like what has been caught in Russia.

BTW you don't really have to look for long before you see that especially a lot of Swedes don't really trust Norwegian skiing ;)

There’s plenty of people with diabetes & many other manageable conditions who benefit from TUEs.  Are you saying they should be thrown out of top-level sport just because a minority abuse the rules?  Hardly fair, the solution is to amend the rules to prevent abuse - only neutral doctors can prescribe, renewals are not automatically granted, statistics are published at year end etc etc.

If you're faking an illness any doctor can provide the right papers to fool the system which is deeply flawed. It's a foolish assumption that athletes and doctors are separate items, they're the two sides of the very same coin. Who in the world believes that "those poor naive athletes got used by those evil doctors". That's nonsense and you know it.

Please name me which of these asthmatic skiers or cyclists also have a diabetes? You have asthma or diabetes and you want to be a world class athlete beating healthy competitors? Geez, find a new job. People who are 2 meters tall might also wanna win the Kentucky Derby as jockeys, hell, I haven't seen a 2 meters jockey though! Why? Isn't life supposed to be fair? 5'2" jockeys win the Kentucky Derby and not 6'3" jockeys. That's why asthmatic people shouldn't be winning endurance events either.

Well Steve Redwood won an Olympic Gold in rowing as a diabetic, there are diabetic professional soccer players, there is or was an-all diabetic pro cycling team in the States etc etc.

In the rowing eights? Please! If all eight rowers had diabetes then you have a case. But if you have 7 healthy rowers that doesn't matter.  Pro cycling in the US? That's some second tier crap team most likely? You didn't even mention their name. Norway in cross country is light years ahead in terms of results. Chris Froome is also pretty successful last time I checked. Nobody cares about participtaion trophies here. TUE doping is being used among the world's elite and nobody can do anything about it. Hell, UCI said Froome was let off the hook because Team Sky had so much money they could provide all the medical tests and then some half of the world can't even afford. Reminds me of the celebrity lawyers, justice can always be blindsided if you have enough money. And Norway has enough money to invest into the fake asthma BS in their national sport. What's the point of the sport being 'fair' when the money still runs this world too?

Still, it's not an individual sport :bye: In NFL we have a player who was born without a hand. Faking an illness to take advantage of TUE is the real evil here.

America are protected from doping inwestigtion, everybody knew that Carl Lewis was soped.

I dont  understand why they sinel out state sponserd doping in Russia, when Thailand and Egypt, Turky, Bulgaroa and Finland do the same.

Lots of misinformation and mixing apples with oranges - Froome's case is not TUE doping, he went over the salbutamol limit allowed without having a TUE, if he had been granted a TUE by a doctor there would have been no case. Same for many Norwegian skiers who (ab)use (of) medications within the legally allowed limit but if they go over that limit they risk disqualification not having been granted any TUE (see Sundby).

And of course Russians are persecuted by evil whites because they are brown, "it is known".

    • The Italian team's form is currently disastrous, especially after their excellent performance at the World Championships in March in Hamar. The miss of qualifications for the women's team is just one of bad news. The second is that Lollibrigida is completely out of form and Ghiotto has her worst results in 4 years at the World Cup. The Italian women's distance team should have been built around Lollibrigida 4 years ago, but with her gone, there's practically no one competing. Peveri and Marletti were there a few years ago, and where are they now? Another huge missed opportunity with the Olympics at home. But of course we are not as lucky as the Czech Republic to have another phenomenon after Sablikova, even though there is not even 1 professional track in the entire country!!! If someone like that appeared among us... Before Paris 2024, Marchand appeared in France in swimming and won several gold medals. No one else appeared in our country and 90% of our medal hopefuls are well over 30 years and already won medals in 2022 and 2018. This is the biggest problem for us.

    • Sooooo, after day 2 :     No change. To clarify, Thorup confirmed she was not going to the Games. But she still collected three quota for  that can be used by any other athlete. Still, Lindenskov has not achieved any minimum qualification time so she's not eligible.    Braun just had to finish the race. She could have started and bailed out like a couple of skaters did in the 500m. But she went all the way and got DQed  So only one Polish skater and Smedding is in (she would have received an additional quota anyways).   Horikawa was given the huge edge of starting in A division thanks to a couple of Dutch skips. Despite running 3s slower than Yang she still retrieved a comfortable amount of points to secure her spot. Yang benefited from the quartets but things could have gone to the wire if they ran in the same division.    Italy not starting. Failing to qualify while they only had to be top 12 (with 14 teams competing) is a huge blow.    Nope Nope Nope   It was tense. Before last pair Semirunniy Lorello and Snellink (in that order with the tie breaker rule) were tied with 110 points, ahead of Henriksen. Meaning that Semirunniy was in and Snellink in too but only in the SOQT ranking, thus depriving the Netherlands of their 9th man. But Eitrem, ranking 0.07 ahead of Semirunniy, and a few seconds later Dawson, 0.10 ahead of Lorello, reshuffled the rankings completely, saving both countryman Henriksen and Dutch matrix selectors.    So Semirunniy, as the world leader in the 10k (not the same event indeed) and 4th of one of the three WC qualifying races is not going to race in Milano. I guess the easy answer is to put that on him. But Sasaki, with 6'21, 13'30 and 6'21 is qualified, because he managed to be a tad faster in the first race of the season on the fastest track in the world. Semirunniy mismanaged his efforts in a flawed system that allows time quota in a World Cup circuit with huge track discrepancies, which works with unfair divisions rewarding way too much already established athletes. Like, look at those injured skaters not even going a hundred meters banking more points than 95% of B division, and yet still taking a spot next week. Erin Jackson could pull this till the end of the season and remain top 16.
    • for the first time ever made it to the final beating  which for the first time ever will not play the final   It is already an absolute shock   but the thing which is happening right now in the other semifinal is literally unbelievable    is currently 1-5 down after 2 periods against     Sweden never lost a match in all history of the WCh so far
