All sports events in Belgium/Flanders have to be held without audience again starting tomorrow. Tomorrow evening the Flemish cycling federation and some others will get together and, as they say, 'decisions will be made about the Flemish races on the calendar'.

BORA-Hansgrohe really was 10 levels too high for this race  Basically it's as if France or Brazil plays in the FIFA World Cup against only Lesotho, Bhutan and Tuvalu. Today it was a 1-2 in the sprint for Ackermann and Schwarzmann, in the final classification BORA takes a 1-2 as well with Mühlberger (who annihilated the field in the time trial) and Konrad.

Am now back in :GBR from my :BEL exile.  Sadly, after a very liberal few weeks things were getting out of hand again with rising numbers so they started a big crack-down at the weekend.  Luckily I was able to put a bit of a gap in the trappistenbier lake before I left.

Also on-line race coverage from GCN racing starts again at the beginning of August.  You may remember they were covering a lot of races just before lockdown, sometimes sharing coverage with ES, but also covering lots of other races ES either did not have or did without commentary.  The bad news is that they have now gone to a subscription based app for their main content, not on YouTube any more.

Vuelta a Burgos is a confirmed start today!  Although it’s in :ESP, the Burgos region has not been affected by the recent CV spike, since it is mostly rocks & herds of goats.  Attracts a better field than usual.
