News from the 2026 World Baseball Classic:

Today it was announced that Canada will play in Pool A in San Juan, Puerto Rico alongside :PUR Puerto Rico, :CUB Cuba, :PAN Panama, and one other qualifier TBD

Very happy with the group. 3 countries they've never played against in the history of the WBC and don't have to play the US for the first time ever. With a crop of new talent, there's the potential to make it out of the group stage for the first time ever.

Just out of curiosity, anybody here a Toronto Blue Jays fan and following this playoff run?

I've been waiting my whole life to see them in a World Series and finally got it yesterday!

Been watching. I used to be really into baseball growing up, but then with life just let it trail off. Coming back, I'm very impressed how quick the games are now. The manager used to visit the mound 19 times an inning and there were 65 time outs per at bat. The product is much better now.

I was lucky enough to be around for their two World Series, seeing them live a few times (regular season). That truly was an exceptional team. But these are the times new stars are born, and Springer sure stepped up on Monday. The Dodgers will be tough, but who knows with home field advantage.

Let's Go Blue Jays!

    • Progressive Bulgaria- the name is misleading and someone from abroad might think it's some kind of modern social democracy party(various sources classify them as SD). Personally, if I were Bulgarian, I would give the PP an outright majority and simply evaluate them after 4 years- if they rule good I then another 4 years por them; if not- goodbye. Better that than chaos or another years with GERB or Radev's post-communists.
