I still want to know if the medal ceremony music is known already or not.

I still haven't heard anything about it :mumble:

Probably we will know very close to the Games.

Our NOC today officially approved the Slovak Team for Rio.

as expected all 52 quotas are accepted and all 52 athletes will go to Rio, there still posibility untill the 18th July to add athletes in Athletics or Swimming. you can find the team below.

there in fact 2 surprise to notice:

first Martin Haring will not go to Rio. yes Patrik Tybor was selected today to start in road cycling road race ! coaches said he had better results in Tour de Slovakia in June than Martin Haring.

and second, I really don´t know why, but we have a change in weightlifting. Ondrej Krúžel +105kg will compete in Rio instead of previously announced reigning Under 23 european champion in -105kg Matej Kováč.

also our canoe sprint quota in C1-1000m will be used by Vincent Farkaš who surprisingly defeated today Matej Rusnák in internal qualifying Race :facepalm:but ok, the coach of both athletes who was the referee in todays race said that Vincent has actually a clearly better shape and is much stronger.

The Flag bearer will be Danka Barteková bronze medalist in womens skeet in London 2012, our only IOC member.

The Slovak Olympic Oath in front of the president of the Republic will be made 23rd July in Bratislava castle by Erik Varga double back to back world champion in Trap and Alexandra Longová who won our first historic olympic Archery quota. the next day will be the day of the departure to Rio for our first part of the team (Archery, Swimming, Shooting, Table Tennis, Tennis, Canoe Slalom, Artistic Gymnastics and Road Cycling).

So none of the mountain bikers who actually earned that mountain bike quota will be going to Rio.

With this being a reward, you can expect 0 mountain bikers in Tokyo.

Even if he ends up empty handed they can always claim they raised awareness/interest on the discipline or some other lame excuse like that lol

Interesting paper about air passenger arrivals for the Rio Olympics. Regarding international flights, top countries are:

USA: 18%
Argentina: 13%
Germany: 7%
Great Britain: 6%
Japan: 5%

I have to say that, from the matches I went in WC/Confederation Cup, USA had one of the most enthusiastic crowds. And like in the World Cup, I expect a huge wave of argentine fans, especially in team sports.

    • I hope they can kick teqball and convince the North Koreans to play the real deal  (very unlikely, I know(   Obstacle racing on the other hand, it should be a compulsory sport of the ABG

    • Oops. I must have misunderstood. I could have sworn I saw her jogging in a field of other men. I assumed she had caught up to some of the slower men. (I admittedly wasn't watching closely.)
    • The women started earlier, it was a race without any men participating.
    • Looking forward to this competition starting tomorrow! Will be nice to see some other countries participate. USA women start with Namibia tomorrow.
    • This came out on the official website yesterday. Updated list of events and competition schedules in Japanese.   Padel and Teqball are on the schedules. Looks like two events for Padel and five for Teqball.   https://www.aichi-nagoya2026.org/files/common/260427競技スケジュール/01_日本語/01_アジア/第20回アジア競技大会競技プログラム.pdf   https://www.aichi-nagoya2026.org/files/common/260427競技スケジュール/01_日本語/01_アジア/第20回アジア競技大会デイリースケジュール.pdf   https://www.aichi-nagoya2026.org/files/common/260427競技スケジュール/01_日本語/01_アジア/第20回アジア競技大会セッションスケジュール.pdf   On the sports programme PDF, Padel is #25 and Teqball is #38.
    • looks like the agreement is the international federations are in fact hosting the event, not the AG organizers, so everything is up to them to make it happen.   Teqball is now confirmed to have 5 events (singles and doubles) does it mean easy 5 gold medals for Thailand ?   Padel is not 100% confirmed yet. I assume there are still talks ongoing between the IF and the Japanese organizers.
    • I feel like this year's Eurovision is more wide open than ever 😂   There isn't a clear favorite, and that makes everything more exciting. Finland is looking strong, sure, but Ukraine always knows how to surprise people and connect with them. I was checking out the odds a bit, and I was struck by how quickly they're rising.   By the way, I found a site that compares the odds pretty clearly: https://casasdeapuestaseurovision.com/   It’s nothing special, but it gives you an idea of how things are shaping up before the semifinals. Although we all know how this goes… at Eurovision, everything can change in a matter of minutes
