If Hall can still go crazy on the 800, she should have this in the bag. Battle for bronze is also quite interesting, the weak ones on the javelin are higher up on the standings.

Yes but her LJ marks don't bode well for the rest of her heptathlon...

She's been in 6.50m+ form this season but couldn't get anywhere near it today.

I’d agree that’s an example of a bad mixed relay. For swimming, I’d drop the gendered 4x100 Free and 4x200 Free in favor of mixed relays, but leave the mixed medley gendered, since it makes more sense in that format.

Anyone noticed how Brazil has a bunch of athletes (often full quota per event), but their athletes are often just not competitive at all? How did they qualify all of them?

Continental Champions got an automatic invitation, no matter what their PB is

they just take advantage of that new rule

Depends on what the injury is really. Her 200 wasn't too great either, so she is definitely at risk.

    • It's hard to believe it was still in this calendar year
    • In last year, we were were happy with Brignone's wins, and today we're excite that della Mea is in the top 10... It's hard to imagine a bigger fall... And Goggia should give up on the giant slalom and focus on the speed events – Vonn isn't wasting time on the giant slalom, but is training for downhill and SG. Goggia last one finished on the podium in the giant slalom in march 2018, and she has no any chance of winning an Olympic medal at the regular competition. It's a waste of time and energy to finish 8th or 9th and risk injury. And we have to accept that without Brignone, we have no chance of winning a medal in the giant slalom in Cortina, and that's it.
    • yeah, just like Anna Trocker earlier Today   I think this is the best way to blow them    they're not ready for the world cup stage yet, but we're so bad right now that our coaches are digging deep
    • Some surprises and fun results so far at this year's Worlds. Like a few minutes ago, when  Harrysson made the 1/8 with another very good performance. Now he plays Jonny Clayton, who this afternoon made a stellar performance in a tough battle with Zonneveld. I don't see an easy match for Clayton, even though on paper he would have wished such an opponent for a 1/8 before the tournament.   Also i'm delighted that my fav Gary Anderson seems to be in good form, though at his age, he is prone to sudden bad matches at any time.
