Just very curious what happened to Graeme Fish. He set the world record five years ago on this ice. Now he is 11 seconds back of his 5k time

Yeah, I thought he had big things in store for him. Hasn't been the same since the pandemic.

I mean ya, but it doesn't affect everybody the same. Could be something else, but in his case there is a clear difference in form pre and post pandemic.

He did win a bronze in the 10,000m at the 2024 World Championships and looked decent the first few World Cup stops last year but completely fell off a cliff after that.

On another note, Lamarche's time is only 0.09 seconds off of Christine Nesbitt's Canadian Record.

 

I thought she could be a dark horse in this event after her showing at Canadian Championships but I was not expecting anything near that quick of a time. What a showing!

Beatrice Lamarche with another huge personal best in the 500 with a 37.30! sitting in fourth with three pairs left

And she was sitting in second with one lap to go in the 1500m but she was just too tired from racing the 500m an hour earlier. Still achieved a personal best of 1:54.55 though.
