5 Norwegians in Top 6 for women and 8 Norwegians in the Top 12 for men.

I wonder who the hell is watching this crap outside of Norway?

Didn't much watch women's race, even though Oestberg surprised me, but was entertained by men's. Bolshunov in last 10k - just amazing. Also, the scenic route was great,I wondered a bit how they don't go some wrong way. Just white, white, white. ;)

I also liked yesterday's sprint. Not a great fan of usual sprints, so maybe that's why...

here I am...:p

for 2 good reasons...

first, the landscape of today's race was simply amazing...I love those places...

second, since the women's race itself was basically senseless, our broadcasters (they also refused to follow the race carefully ) put on a show analyzing the very sad situation of our Nordic Disciplines and made it the most interesting 90 mins of the day (and not only of the day)...

Polish TV broadcasts the endurace races so there are enough snowy landscapes there too. It's obvious Tour de Ski has lost its juice so FIS had to come up with a new Tour located in Norway because it's the only country where people actually follow cc these days. I haven't watched a single World Cup race since the 2019 Nordic WCh and it seems like the next time I'm gonna watch one will be the 2021 Nordic WCh :p

also Italian TV shows the Ski Classic Tour...and tbh, I prefer races like Birkebeiner, Marcialonga or Vasaloppet to the current World Cup races (with very few exceptions)...

being myself born and grown up in a (relatively) big, messy, heavily polluted city, those places in the middle of nature are always very attractive to me...

Little late to the party because I could only find time to watch yesterday's races last night and today, but damn that Meråker stage was freaking beautiful

And what a showing from Bolshunov, holy moses

Yeah we got it one year in Britain by some freak, and a very snowy year as well.  Quite a lot of the big names do at least some of the races especially late season when all the sprints are on.  Otherwise it is on pay TV, but at a completely unrealistic price.  I’m one of those eccentric people who likes to save up races I haven’t seen to watch off-season. :raspberry:

    • Non-Olympic Athlete, Moment of the Year and Olympic Spirit Award are the ones lacking the most. Paralympic Athlete and Breakthrough also don't have a lot of votes.
    • Do you have or have you ever had an modern ice track?
    • Still no progress in the Italian team: 2x 4th place in men's singles and women's doubles+ a fall in the team relay. Men's doubles and women's singles without any progress for years. What's worse, our women's doubles also significantly lowered their level: without a single podium in the World Cup in this season. As of today, I'm betting on 0 medals in Cortina for us, excluding some miracles on the home track.
    • There is some progress at Barp and Carollo but almost everything is still based on Pellegrino. In the men's we lost a great talent - de Fabiani and Davide Graz - they are at an age where we have a generation gap in these age groups: 1994-2000. In the women's I`m happy with Monsorno's progress in sprints but the last podium WC in the women's category was in... 2011. We wasted 15 years in the women's category and now we are only waking up with 1 year to go until the games in Cortina, when we should have a ready team like Germany (I will skip Scandinavia because of its completely different potential).
    • Italy doesn't exist in women's technical competitions without from Brignone and Goggia - both over 30 age. Unfortunately Bassino has been out of good shipe since from last season in the giant slalom and she is unrecognizable in some competitions. In the case of Goggia I also don't really believe in regular podiums in the giant slalom - she can't have falls and win in the downhill and super-G. The giant slalom is just a bonus.   The Italian women's slalom has basically been non-existent for many years. One Peterlini qualifies for the 30 and doesn't finish half of the competitions. I can't understand how it was possible to lose Colturi in a situation where other Italians have fallen so badly. Unfortunately it's not the Italian federation that should be setting the conditions here but it's Colturi and her mother - a talent on par with Shiffrin at her age.
    • In relay yes, but we have 8 more from our legend Natalya Yakushenko back in 2008 and earlier
