Tournament Schedule

Competition Format

 

Opening Round
Two (2) groups of four (4) Teams (A,B), will play all vs. all (round robin format), with the top two (2) teams from each group advancing to the Super Round.

Bottom two (2) teams from each group will be eliminated from competition after the Opening Round.


Super Round
The top two (2) teams from each group will advance to the Super Round carrying the result of the games played between each other.

The Super Round will be a 4-team round robin without playing the team of their original group.
The top National Team in the tournament final standings will gain a berth for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

Australia is destroying Chinese Taipei in what could prove to be a decisive match. For whatever reason it was scheduled for the opening round...

Australia are just on another planet...there's no really decisive game for the top place in this tournament...

 

the real fight is CHN vs TPE for the runner-up place (good for nothing)...

My surprise was about the great start New Zelanders had (they took an early 3:0 lead...). But then China came back and won 8:3.

 

Interestingly, Philippines vs China match was the exact same thing. Philippines took early 3:0 lead, but in the end China easily won 8:3...
