I thought all of that was supposed to be copied one-on-one to the IOC's website..? Can't find it there though, and definitely not in a format that's as perfect as sports-reference :(

I'm afraid that will not happen for a long while (if ever). IOC development team is really not that trustworthy. They proved it time and time again.

I do have faith in the people behind the actual data and stories though, so I'm not gonna give up hope yet :)

Okay, so just a little explanation courtesy of @Dragon. He gave me this info when we were planning the future of Totallympics Media. He joined OlyMADmen in 2008, and for a while they licensed out their data from their private Olympedia database to SR. Then the IOC bought out their data in 2016. Here’s an article about that acquisition: https://www.sportsbusinessdaily.com/Journal/Issues/2017/02/27/Olympics/Olympedia.aspx

Since then the IOC allowed allowed SR/Olympics to stay open until the new website was ready. The plan was for the IOC database to be ready by 2020, but IOC changed their digital strategy, and so there’s a been a delay. Dragon is hopeful the data will be published before Tokyo 2020 next year.

Oh my gosh I am so shocked a major federation/company/whatever changes their 'digital strategy'

  • 2 weeks later...

I have been reviewing some results... And apparently :CAN Mario Deslauriers could be just about the unluckiest Olympian ever. :yikes:

He contested 4 show jumping events in total during 1984 and 1988. In 3/4 of those events he placed 4th! Every time very close to the podium.

1984 team - 0.75 penalties away from the bronze

1984 individual - contested the jump-off for bronze

1988 team - 1.25 penalties away from the bronze

Is CAS working at the moment? Did everybody forget that the IOC banned Russia from competing at all major events?

Now that the OG were moved to 2021 there is soooooo much time for a ruling.

Our number of TUEs is lower than that in other reports. We considered only TUEs valid between the opening and the closing of the Games. Previous papers generally considered a TUE valid if it was in force at any time after the opening of the Olympic Village, which is a few weeks earlier.

No problem in that, you can be on (insert drug) for years, just stop on the opening day of the Games and we won't count you among the TUE users.

    • Malinin  opted for the 4-Axel in his Short Program, but faltered, landing him in 3rd thus far (and only 0.05 away from 4th!).  Surely he has the tools to rise back up in the Free Program.  (Also, perhaps this will serve to show him that he is in fact beatable.)
    • I think they incorrectly translated Ukrainian word "nahorody" - it is not a full synonym of "medal". Its cocrrect translation is "award". Meanwhile russian tennis playes switched for Potapova ->  Rakhimova ->
    • Ukrainian diver Lyskun switches allegiance to Russia, loses all medals | Olympics News | Al Jazeera   'loses all medals'   I would assume Al Jazeera could have been a bit clearer and mention this would presumably only be national medals. I mean, it's not like the Ukrainian federation, or any single federation for that matter, has the power to strip her of her world and European championships medals I hope (not for her sake, but because that would be a super weird precedent)
    • That's what I'd plan as well (except for MelFest), but I also know I am hypocritical enough to still want to watch the show and have a fun evening
    • Confirmation about the broadcasting rights.   If I'm reading it right, for most of Europe it will now be exclusive to Discovery/Eurosport or whatever brand they use.     For outside Europe, it's on YouTube. For Planet VPN....well, let us know if you find out.   fil-taker-list-25-26-winterberg-1.pdf   Also, should have mentioned above that the Nations Cup races today are just over one leg, whereas there are two runs in each of the World Cup races.
    • Got our first competition of the season coming up in Solitude, Utah  this weekend.  Live on Discovery Plus etc, plus also YouTube and the Olympic Channel.  If you are new to the sport, the sprint races on Saturday will be the format you'll find easy to understand.     ISMF   ISMF Skimo - YouTube

They were in contact and despite of full funding from  the girl decided to become the star of russian propaganda.  As I saw in X: "It took the Russians four years of war to find a relatively well-known sports personality to carry out such a propaganda operation."
