Olympian1010 7,483 Posted November 29, 2023 #1024 Share Posted November 29, 2023 (edited) Smajlaj seems unlikely to win given his qualification scandal. I'm honestly surprised his candidacy was cleared (even it was possibly determined at some point he didn't have a major role in the scandal). Although, there are quite a few athletes with memorable results or personalities on there. “Sport has the power to change the world. It has the power to inspire. Olympian1010 7,483 Posted March 19 #1026 Share Posted March 19 I missed the announcement back in February, but was sanctioned by WADA for non-compliance, so they may be at risk of having to compete under the flag in Paris. As @thepharoah pointed out, their flag has been abstent (for the most part) from the ongoing African Games. Josh, thepharoah and Benolympique 2 1 “Sport has the power to change the world. Olympian1010 7,483 Posted March 19 #1027 Share Posted March 19 The IOC accepted some more changes of nationality today. Pou is definitely one to note given she won an open water swimming quota earlier this year. Josh 1 “Sport has the power to change the world. It has the power to inspire. Olympian1010 7,483 Posted March 19 #1028 Share Posted March 19 Also, @Fer GUA will likely be happy to know that suspension has been provisionally lifted, meaning athletes might be able to compete under the flag in Paris. Olympian1010 7,483 Posted March 19 #1029 Share Posted March 19 The IOC also published a bunch of new information regarding the participation of “individual neutral athletes.” “Sport has the power to change the world. So happy!!! With our new Government things are starting to change, and getting out all the corrupt authorities that plague the institutions the past 4 years. One of them being the COG, now awaiting for new elections. Good for all the athletes than now can compete.
