Alejandro Blanco didn't say anything about the favorite bid of IOC, but some Spanish journalists suggested Egypt, India or Germany as the potential favorites of Thomas Bach.

I lived in Cairo for a little while.  In no way are they ready to host an Olympics.  I visited Rio in 2015 and they were light years ahead of where Cairo is now in terms of infrastructure, so if they considered Rio a failure then Cairo would be a disaster.  I realize they just built a new capital and it would be in 14 years, but I just don't see how they could ever get to an Olympic host level in that time.  Having said that, it would be very cool for Egypt to host, have the marathon end at the Spinx, sailing in the Red Sea, beach volleyball by the pyramids, etc.  But I just can't see it happening that soon.

I've always said Istanbul would be a great location, though, if they want to bid.

if we consider that is Europe's turn again after 12 years then excluding Spain only Germany or Italy could be the favorite bid.

Great Britain could put in a strong bid too. I'd like to see the Netherlands put in an attempt...

2012-2036, its 24 years, not too many. Even US needed 32 years after their last Olympics

The difference between Los Angeles and Atlanta was 12 years and to be fair they could have gotten the 2024 games if they didn't go for the deal proposed by the IOC and they didn't try a bid for 2020 due to politics.

If the 2036 games are going to Europe and Spain isn't good enough that only leaves a small handful of possible nations: :FRA :GER :GBR :ITA :NED :RUS countries like :AZE :BEL :HUN :POL :SWE :SUI :TUR etc. don't have the financial clout.

Of the six nations, France is too soon and Russia is a non-starter for other reasons. I also don't think the IOC will want to remind people of the 1936 games so Germany is probably not a "preferred candidate" so Great Britain doesn't have much competition.

Of course, the games could go to an Asian country in which case :CHN and :KOR will be the favourites or perhaps they want to go the Brazil route and awarded it to :IND :INA :EGY :RSA etc.

If the IOC is serious about a two country rule, a Netherlands-Belgium joint Games would be nice to see.

yes but from the other side, Bach's term is concluded in 2025, so 2036 will be the last chance to give an Olympics to his country :)

As someone who’s definitely on the introverted side, I’ve always hated anything that feels intrusive — long registrations, support calls, verification uploads, or sites that spam you into interacting. So over the past year, I tested a bunch of crypto casinos specifically to see which ones are introvert-friendly: ✔ no forced KYC ✔ fast payouts (so no long back-and-forth with support) ✔ clean, quiet UI ✔ no pop-ups and no social pressure ✔ easy deposits ✔ minimal interaction needed Below is what actually worked for me. ⭐ My Top Crypto Casinos for Introverts (Real Testing Results) Casino Why It’s Introvert-Friendly Speed Link JackBit Quiet UI, no KYC, instant payouts 7 min 👉 Play at JackBit BetWhale Low-pressure bonuses, simple layout 14 min 👉 Play at BetWhale BitStarz Fast cashouts, no forced conversations 9 min 👉 Play at BitStarz ThunderPick Clean minimalist design 18 min 👉 Play on ThunderPick 7Bit Casino Extremely chill, no notifications 22 min 👉 Play at 7Bit 1. Why it works for introverts: Wagering progress updates silently No pushy pop-ups The whole site feels “low-pressure” Support never contacts you unless you message first It’s a very low-interaction platform.   👉 Play at BetWhale (Smooth & Simple) 3. BitStarz – Fast Payouts Means Less Interaction BitStarz is great if you want to deposit, play, withdraw and leave — quick and efficient, no conversations needed. What I like: Withdrawals are some of the fastest online No random KYC prompts if you use crypto Very stable gameplay (no need to contact support) A calm, mature-feeling interface Perfect for players who like things to “just work.”   👉 Play at BitStarz (Quick & Quiet Gaming) 4. Introvert-friendly perks: Great for casual betting without chat rooms Mobile interface is extremely calm No forced community features You can switch between casino & sports without talking to anyone     👉 Play on ThunderPick (Minimalist Interface) 5. 7Bit – The Chillest, Quietest Crypto Casino 7Bit feels like a casino designed for people who want to be left alone. Why I recommend it: No aggressive marketing No forced KYC unless you use fiat Huge game library with silent browsing Simple cashier with no need for support interactions It’s a very relaxed environment.   👉 Play at 7Bit (Totally Low-Pressure) Final Thoughts — The Introvert’s Casino Shortlist If you want a quiet, private gaming experience without feeling watched, talked to, or pressured: 🏆 Best Overall for Introverts: JackBit 🏆 Best Quiet Bonus Experience: BetWhale 🏆 Fastest Stress-Free Payouts: BitStarz 🏆 Best Minimalist UI: ThunderPick 🏆 Most Chill Game Library: 7Bit
    • It's not a coincidence that a lot of the matches that are earlier in the day are in Atlanta and Houston and Dallas where they have roofs.  And most of the games in the outdoor stadiums are later in the day.
    • The best athletes will all be there anyway – it's easier to get a spot in the top 10-15. Only the great champions were ahead of Gismondi today.
    • They are not "oppressed enough" to be mention here.
    • And remember the Olympic Paradox - it is slightly easier to get a medal at the Olympics than at a World Cup because in the Olympics the numbers of racers from the powerful nations are capped at 4.
    • Jimmy Mariano  basketball. 84 years old.   Member of the Philippine men’s basketball team at the 1972 Summer Olympics. Flag bearer for the Philippine delegation at those Games.
    • Franchi had a similarly impressive performance at the 2023 World Championships on the same distance but later she completly missing. I hope that with Gismondi will be different, especially since she was already a great talent in her junior years. The problem in Italy is that for the past 15 years, aside from Pellegrino, there has been a miss of stability in other athletes: there are some booms of excellent form, but later they disappear. I also worry that funding for cross-country skiing will be cut after the Cortina Olympics.
    • The last day was a great success, for first. Secondly, even 20 medals are fewer than the 22 from 2023 and 34 from 2021
