Road Cycling UCI World Championships 2019

Colombia's world championships team:

ELITE:
Nairo Quintana
Fernando Gaviria
Álvaro Hodeg
Esteban Chaves
Sebastián Molano
Sebastián Henao
Daniel Martínez
Egan Bernal

SUB-23:
Sergio Higuita
Juan Fernando Calle
Nicolás Gómez
Julián David Molano

SUB-19:
Miguel Ángel Hoyos
Germán Darío Gómez

God knows what coach Jaramillo wants with this team, it's as if he just took a random guess at the profile and so decided to bring 50% sprinters and 50% climbers, just in case. Also kinda sad for Higuita to have such a good Vuelta and then have to ride the U23 race.

Just to post it here before too many posts bury it :p

Tissot's website with the easy-to-find PDF's for start lists, results etc. And their generally pretty crappy live timing (of course change the nl-nl at the end to whatever you want if your browser doesn't already do so).

This site gave me a headache and I couldn't actually find the start list :d Why do all these events want to have annoying flashy and 'modern' websites instead of just a super easy list with "Time - Event - Start list - Result" per entry? :(

Anyway, start list:

With the WCC as one of the more interesting teams, especially Campbell of Trinidad is a pretty seriously talented young lady.

Which makes her participation in this useless competition a total waste of effort...

    • There will be specialized double sculls...just not for an NOC if it is entering singles specialists.   Either enter 2 singles specialists, or 1 XD specialist pair.   But they can in theory compete in both events, I guess, if they qualify...our top M, I think, does both.   But there are 17M, 17W, and 30 Pairs allotted in the quota, so I don't think the intent is that every singles entry will be in doubles.   (Perhaps this gets to fall in line with Weightlifting, where due to max entry quota, an NOC can't enter in every event, even if they have the best athletes...here, unless you have a pair who qualifies in both.)

    • I read the Olympic qualification documents for weightlifting. A country can have the opportunity to send a maximum of 4 athletes in one gender, but the conditions are very strict.
    • world champion Jessica Schilder opened her season up with 19.78 in France.
    • wait! what???   so, there won't be specialized double sculls, but those boats would have to feature 2 single specialists if a Nation wants to enter 2 proper singles M+W??? tell me I misread the expalaination...
