What ghost win mean?

It's an advantage given to those who have won the qualifiers; they simply start with 1 or 2 wins in the finals and need to win fewer races to clinch the European Championship.

So, since Germany and Great Britain have two ghost wins they are almost sure to qualify to final as three wins are needed, right? Our guys chance seems low then.

Yes, they start with a big advantage. In theory, any of the four can advance. In practice, those ghost win deficits are hard to overcome.

Yes, the men's quota is likely to be decided in the final and the women's probably in the semi-final. Poland has a good chance of gaining the women's quota though.

The semi-finals and finals are available on YouTube from 10am GMT I believe.

    • What are the odds WTA/ITF has Kostyuk vs Potapova AO R1 just to see if the hand shake happens?
    • Malinin  opted for the 4-Axel in his Short Program, but faltered, landing him in 3rd thus far (and only 0.05 away from 4th!).  Surely he has the tools to rise back up in the Free Program.  (Also, perhaps this will serve to show him that he is in fact beatable.)
    • I think they incorrectly translated Ukrainian word "nahorody" - it is not a full synonym of "medal". Its cocrrect translation is "award". Meanwhile russian tennis playes switched for Potapova ->  Rakhimova ->
    • Ukrainian diver Lyskun switches allegiance to Russia, loses all medals | Olympics News | Al Jazeera   'loses all medals'   I would assume Al Jazeera could have been a bit clearer and mention this would presumably only be national medals. I mean, it's not like the Ukrainian federation, or any single federation for that matter, has the power to strip her of her world and European championships medals I hope (not for her sake, but because that would be a super weird precedent)
    • That's what I'd plan as well (except for MelFest), but I also know I am hypocritical enough to still want to watch the show and have a fun evening
