Hint for all who picked Vlhová as medallist in the Alpine Combined, Quickly, Hurry change your predictions, she will not start in the AC.

In fact the whole team will travel to France only for the second week and will start only in GS & SL + in the Team event (but without Vlhová) Petra will use the whole next 2 weeks to train and should arrive to the WCh right before the GS and SL.

How’s the weather in Courchevel/Meribel this weekend???

https://www.timeanddate.com/weather/@3023065/ext

next week is acceptable, at least we have temperatures below 0 at night (which will allow the organizers to set up the tracks well), the only problems might happen on Monday with the women's Super-G, should it rain before and during the race.

the following week instead might be problematic, with high temperatures (nights above 0) that might affect the setup and the overall quality of the tracks.

rainy days might also give the organizers some troubles, especially if it happens in the speed events' days.

Men still have the World Cup slalom in Chamonix tomorrow. I assume if the weather is good there then it's the same in Meribel/Courchevel since the distance is ca. 120 km?

    • Barring any further surprises, which are always possible in Val Gardena, this would be the Czech Republic's first men's victory in the World Cup. In the past, there have been six women's victories and one mixed team victory in Garmisch-Partenkirchen in 2010.

    • Well, I see that the national competition between mixed doubles and also men increased. Also actually amongst women, too. Before it was mostly Kubeskova team that participated in some international events. This year, Synackova team did really well in the pre-qualification just the final qualification was not that good. But curling is about details. Generally, I am glad to see that there is really much higher competition than it was 10 years ago. And seeing Chabickovsky a Zelingerova making it to the Olympics in such a young age can be really promising for their career as curling is becoming more professional, as we see Grand Slams and other big tournaments.    As for now, I think that in Milano Team Klima and mixed doubles can make really interesting results. After all, they will finish in top 10 so just qualifying to the Games is already a huge achievement
